1IL-25 stimulates M2 macrophage polarization and thereby promotes mitochondrial respiratory capacity and lipolysis in adipose tissues against obesity显示文摘Obesity and associated metabolic diseases are characterized by a chronic low-grade inflammatory state with the infiltration of many inflammatory cells,especially macrophages.Immune molecules,including some cytokines,have a close relationship with metabolism.Interleukin(IL)-25 is a member of the IL-17 cytokine family that can regulate macrophages and alleviate some metabolic dysfunction;however,its role and mechanisms in lipid metabolism remain to be extensively clarified.Human serum and liver biopsy specimens,high-fat diet-induced obesity mice and DB/DB(Lepr−/−)animal models were used to examine IL-25 expression in obesity and nonalcoholic fatty liver diseases(NAFLD).To observe the role of IL-25 in lipid metabolism,model mice were administered with IL-25 or adoptively transferred with IL-25-educated macrophages in vivo,whereas bone marrow-derived macrophages,the macrophage cell line RAW264.7 and adipocytes differentiated from 3T3-L1 were used in vitro.IL-25 was decreased in NAFLD patients and obese mice.In addition,IL-25 reduced body weight gain and lipid accumulation,enhanced lipid uptake by macrophages and increased the expression of lipolysis andβ-oxidation enzymes via alternatively activating macrophages.IL-25 also promoted lipolysis and suppressed lipogenesis in adipocytes co-cultured with the IL-25-educated macrophages.Furthermore,IL-25 improved the mitochondrial respiratory capacity and oxygen consumption rate of macrophages and produced more NAD+/NADH and ATP.In conclusion,IL-25 can stimulate M2 macrophage polarization and thereby promote lipolysis and mitochondrial respiratory capacity,highlighting the potential for IL-25 to be used as a therapeutic agent against obesity and associated metabolic syndromes.Juan Feng Lingyi Li Zhiying Ou Qiao Li Baoyong Gong Zhenxian Zhao Weiwei Qi Ti Zhou Jun Zhong Weibin Cai Xia Yang Aiping Zhao Guoquan Gao Zhonghan Yang 2018Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,5:10
2Second-harmonic generation using d(33)in periodically poled lithium niobate microdisk resonators显示文摘A fabrication process allowing for the production of periodically poled lithium niobate(PPLN)photonic devices with any domain pattern and unit size down to 200 nm is developed by combining semiconductor fabrication techniques and piezo-force-microscopy tips polarization.Based on this fabrication process,PPLN microdisk resonators with quality factors of 8×10~4 were fabricated from a Z-cut lithium niobate film.Second-harmonic generation(SHG)utilizing d(33)in the whole cavity was demonstrated in a PPLN microdisk with a 2μm-spatialperiod radial domain pattern.The SHG conversion efficiency was measured to be 1.44×10^(-5)m W^(-1).This work paves the way to fabricate complex PPLN photonic devices and to obtain efficient nonlinear optical effects that have wide applications in both classical and quantum optics.ZHENZHONG HAO LI ZHANG WENBO MAO ANG GAO XIAOMEI GAO FENG GAO FANG BO GUOQUAN ZHANG JINGJUN XU 2020Photonics Research2020,8,3:6
3Periodically poled lithium niobate whispering gallery mode microcavities on a chip显示文摘In this study, we investigate the fabrication of periodically poled lithium niobate(PPLN) microdisk cavities on a chip. These resonators are fabricated from a PPLN film with a 16 μm poling period on insulator using conventional microfabrication techniques.The quality factor of the PPLN microdisk resonators with a 40-μm radius and a 700-nm thickness is 6.7×10~5. Second harmonic generation(SHG) with an efficiency of 2.2×10^(-6) mW(-1) is demonstrated in the fabricated PPLN microdisks. 5Sum-frequency generation in on-chip lithium niobate microdisk resonators显示文摘We report the first observation, to the best of our knowledge, of sum-frequency generation in on-chip lithium niobate microdisk resonators. The sum-frequency signal in the 780 nm band, distinct in wavelength from secondharmonic signals, was obtained in lithium niobate microresonators under the pump of two individual 1550 nm band lasers. The sum-frequency conversion efficiency was measured to be 1.4 × 10^(-7) mW^(-1). The dependence of the intensities of the nonlinear signals on the total pump power and the wavelength of one pump laser was investigated while fixing the wavelength of the other. 7Process simulation and energy integration in the mineral carbonation of blast furnace slag显示文摘Large quantities of blast furnace(BF) slag and CO_2 are discharged annually from iron and steel industries, along with a large amount of waste heat.The mineral carbonation of BF slag can not only reduce emissions of solid waste but also realize the in-situ fixation of CO_2 with low energy consumption if integrated with the waste heat utilization.In this study, based on our previous works, Aspen Plus was employed to simulate and optimize the carbonation process and integrate the process energy.The effects of gehlenite extraction, MgSO_4 carbonation,and aluminum ammonium sulfate crystallization were studied systematically.The simulation results demonstrate that 2.57 kg of BF slag can sequester 1 kg of CO_2, requiring 5.34 MJ of energy(3.3 MJ heat and 2.04 MJ electricity), and this energy includes the capture of CO_2 from industrial flue gases.Approximately 60 kg net CO_2 emission reduction could be achieved for the disposal of one ton of BF slag.In addition, the by-product,aluminum ammonium sulfate, is a high value-added product.Preliminary economic analysis indicates that the profit for the whole process is 1127 CNY per ton of BF slag processed.Jianqiu Gao Chun Li Weizao Liu Jinpeng Hu Lin Wang Qiang Liu Bin Liang Hairong Yue Guoquan Zhang Dongmei Luo Siyang Tang 2019Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2019,27,1:2
8Mode characteristics of silver-coated inverted-wedge silica microdisks显示文摘The characteristics of whispering gallery modes(WGM) in silver-coated inverted-wedge silica microdisks are theoretically investigated by using finite element method. Dielectric TE mode always exists in silver-coated inverted-wedge resonators; dielectric TM mode tends to couple with SPP modes; only pure interior surface plasmonic polariton(SPP) mode but not pure exterior SPP mode is observed in contrast to the metal-coated cylindrical and toroidal resonators. The dependence of quality factor of different kinds of WGMs on the radius of the resonator and the thickness of the coated silver layer are systematically analyzed. We find that the quality factors of the hybrid WGMs associated with SPP mode can reach 104. The maximum light intensity enhancement in ambient for a hybrid mode consisting of a dielectric TM mode and an exterior SPP mode can be obtained when a silver film of thickness ~40 nm is deposited. 15Indentation behavior of a semi-infinite piezoelectric semiconductor under a rigid flat-ended cylindrical indenter显示文摘This paper theoretically studies the axisymmetric frictionless indentation of a transversely isotropic piezoelectric semiconductor(PSC)half-space subject to a rigid flatended cylindrical indenter.The contact area and other surface of the PSC half-space are assumed to be electrically insulating.By the Hankel integral transformation,the problem is reduced to the Fredholm integral equation of the second kind.This equation is solved numerically to obtain the indentation behaviors of the PSC half-space,mainly including the indentation force-depth relation and the electric potential-depth relation.The results show that the effect of the semiconductor property on the indentation responses is limited within a certain range of variation of the steady carrier concentration.The dependence of indentation behavior on material properties is also analyzed by two different kinds of PSCs.Finite element simulations are conducted to verify the results calculated by the integral equation technique,and good agreement is demonstrated.Shijing GAO Lele ZHANG Jinxi LIU Guoquan NIE Weiqiu CHEN 2024Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2024,45,4:0
