1Mesoporous silica nanoparticles for drug and gene delivery显示文摘Mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSNs) are attracting increasing interest for potential biomedical applications. With tailored mesoporous structure, huge surface area and pore volume,selective surface functionality, as well as morphology control, MSNs exhibit high loading capacity for therapeutic agents and controlled release properties if modified with stimuli-responsive groups, polymers or proteins. In this review article, the applications of MSNs in pharmaceutics to improve drug bioavailability, reduce drug toxicity, and deliver with cellular targetability are summarized. 2Radiofrequency ablation or microwave ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by comparing with radiofrequency ablation alone显示文摘Objective:To compare radiofrequency ablation(RFA) or microwave ablation(MWA) and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) with RFA or MWA monotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:A prospective,randomized,controlled trial was conducted on 94 patients with HCC ≤7 cm at a single tertiary referral center from June 2008 to June 2010 at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery,the Second Affiliated Hospital of Southeast University.The patients were randomly assigned into the TACERFA or TACE-MWA(combined treatment group) and the RFA-alone or MWA-alone groups(control group).The primary end point was overall survival.The secondary end point was recurrence-free survival,and the tertiary end point was adverse effects.Results:Until the time of censor,17 patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 47.5±11.3 months(range,29 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 93.6%,68.1% and 61.7%,respectively.Twenty-five patients in the RFA or MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the RFA or MWA group was 47.0±12.9 months(range,28 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the RFA or MWA group was 85.1%,59.6% and 44.7%,respectively.The patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had better overall survival than the RFA or MWA group [hazard ratio(HR),0.526;95% confidence interval(95% CI),0.334-0.823;P=0.002],and showed better recurrence-free survival than the RFA or MWA group(HR,0.582;95% CI,0.368-0.895;P=0.008).Conclusions:RFA or MWA combined with TACE in the treatment of HCC ≤7 cm was superior to RFA or MWA alone in improving survival by reducing arterial and portal blood flow due to TACE with iodized oil before RFA.Yongxiang Yi Yufeng Zhang Qiang Wei Liang Zhao Jianbo Han Yan Song Ying Ding Guilan Lu Junmao Liu Huaiying Ding Feng Dai Xiaojun Tang 2014Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,1:29
3Changes of Soil Labile Organic Carbon in Different Land Uses in Sanjiang Plain, Heilongjiang Province显示文摘In the Sanjiang Plain,Northeast China,the natural wetland is undergoing a rapid conversion into agricultural land,which has resulted in drastic ecological changes in the region. To investigate the effects of different land uses on soil labile organic carbon,soils of Calamagrostis angustifolia wetland,Carex lasiocarpa wetland,dry farmland,paddy field,forest land and abandoned cultivated land were collected for measuring the contents of soil microbial biomass carbon (MBC),dissolved organic carbon (DOC),readily oxidizable carbon (ROC) and carbohydrate carbon (CHC). The results show that soil organic carbon contents follow the order: Carex lasiocarpa wetland>Calamagrostis angustifolia wetland>forest land>paddy field>dry farmland. The contents of MBC and DOC in Calamagrostis angustifolia and Carex lasiocarpa wetlands are significantly higher than those in other land use types. The contents of CHC and ROC are the highest in Calamagrostis angustifolia wetland and the lowest in dry farmland. The contents of all the labile organic carbon increase along with the years of abandonment of cultivated land. The ratios of MBC,DOC and ROC to SOC also follow the order: Carex lasiocarpa wetland>Calamagrostis angustifolia wetland>forest land>paddy field>dry farmland,while the ratio of CHC to SOC is paddy field>forest field>Carex lasiocarpa wetland>Carex lasiocarpa wetland>dry farmland. When natural wetlands were cultivated,the activity of soil organic carbon tends to reduce in some extent due to the disappearance of heterotrophic environment and the reduction of vegetation residue. 5Synergistic immunoreaction of acupuncture-like dissolving microneedles containing thymopentin at acupoints in immune-suppressed rats显示文摘Dissolving microneedles carried drug molecules can effectively penetrate the stratum corneum of skin to improve the transdermal drug delivery. The traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture is based on the needle stimulation at a specific location(acupoint) to generate and transmit biochemical and physiological signals which alter the pathophysiological state of patients. However, the pain associated with conventional acupuncture needles and the requirement of highly trained professionals limit the development of acupuncture in non-Asian countries. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the dissolving microneedles can be utilized as a self-administered painless replacement for acupuncture and locally released drug molecules can achieve expected therapeutic outcomes. Immunosuppressive rats were treated with acupuncture at Zusanli(ST36) acupoint using microneedles containing thymopentin.The immune functions and psychological mood of the immunosuppressed animals were examined. The proliferation of splenocytes was examined by CCK-8 assay. CD4 and CD8 expression patterns in spleen cells were detected by flow cytometry. The current study showed that use of either microneedles containing thymopentin or conventional acupuncture both resulted in immune cell proliferation, which was confirmed by flow cytometry. 6Identification of quantitative trait loci for the dead leaf rate and the seedling dead rate under alkaline stress in rice显示文摘The quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for the dead leaf rate (DLR) and the dead seedling rate (DSR) at the different rice growing periods after transplanting under alkaline stress were identified using an F2:3 population, which included 200 individuals and lines derived from a cross between two japonica rice cultivars Gaochan 106 and Changbai 9 with microsatellite markers. The DLR detected at 20 days to 62 days after transplanting under alkaline stress showed continuous normal or near normal distributions in F3 lines, which was the quantita- tive trait controlled by multiple genes. The DSR showed a continuous distribution with 3 or 4 peaks and was the quantitative trait con- trolled by main and multiple genes when rice was grown for 62 days after transplanting under alkaline stress. Thirteen QTLs associated with DLR were detected at 20 days to 62 days after transplanting under alkaline stress. Among these, qDLR9-2 located in RM5786?RM160 on chromosome 9 was detected at 34 days, 41 days, 48 days, 55 days, and 62 days, respectively; qDLR4 located in RM3524?RM3866 on chromosome 4 was detected at 34 days, 41 days, and 48 days, respectively; qDLR7-1 located in RM3859?RM320 on chromosome 7 was detected at 20 days and 27 days; and qDLR6-2 in RM1340-RM5957 on chromosome 6 was detected at 55 days and 62 days, respectively. The alleles of both qDLR9-2 and qDLR4 were derived from alkaline sensitive parent 'Gaochan106'. The alleles of both qDLR7-1 and qDLR6-2 were from alkaline tolerant parent Changbai 9. These gene actions showed dominance and over dominance primarily. Six QTLs associated with DSR were detected at 62 days after transplanting under alkaline stress. Among these, qDSR6-2 and qDSR8 were located in RM1340?RM5957 on chromosome 6 and in RM3752?RM404 on chromosome 8, respectively, which were asso- ciated with DSR and accounted for 20.32% and 18.86% of the observed phenotypic variation, respectively; qDSR11-2 and qDSR11-3 were located in RM536?RM479 and RM2596?RM286 on chromosome 11, respectively, which were associated with DSR explaining 25.85% and 15.41% of the observed phenotypic variation, respectively. 7Synergistic action on hypnosia: Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of threshold and sub-threshold dosages显示文摘BACKGROUND: Sedative and hypnotic drugs could cure insomnia in a dependent manner, and traditional Chinese medicine has some superiority in treating insomnia. OBJECTIVE: To observe the synergistic action of Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium in threshold and sub-threshold dosages in hypnosia and sedation. DESIGN: A completely randomized grouping design and control experiment. SETTING: Pharmacological laboratory, College of Pharmacy, Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. MATERIALS: Totally 200 grade Ⅱ Kunming mice of 18–21 g, either male or female, were used. Yinao capsules, main ingredients of which were turtleback glue, thinleaf milkwort root, Chinese magnoliavine fruit, mythic fungus, tangshen, ginseng and grassleaf sweetflag rhizome, were offered by Chinese-American Huayi Pharmacy, Co.,Ltd. (ratified number: 040901); Kangnaoshuai capsules, main ingredients of which were prepared rehmannia root, tuber fleeceflower root, ginseng, membranous milkvetch root, thinleaf milkwort root, Fushen, grassleaf sweetflag rhizome, spine date seed, lecithin, barbary wolfberry fruit, pueraria root, vitamin E, etc., were produced by Shijiazhuang Siyao, Co.,Ltd. (ratified number: 040964); Pentobarbital sodium was produced by China Medicine (Group) Shanghai Chemical Reagent, Co,.Ltd. (Ratified number: 030816). ZZ-6 mice spontaneous activity apparatus was produced by Chengdu Taimeng Science and Technology, Co.,Ltd. METHODS: The experiment was carried out in the Animal Experimental Center, Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October to December in 2005. ① Influence of Yinao capsules on the spontaneous activity of mice: Fifty mice were randomly divided into five groups with 10 mice in each group: Mice in the large, middle and small dosages of Yinao capsules groups were intragastrically infused with Yinao capsules suspension (1.36, 0.68, 0.34 g/kg); Those in the Kangnaoshuai capsules group were infused with Kangnaoshuai suspension (1.12 g/kg); Those in the control group were given physiologic saline of the same volume. The mice were administrated once a day for 7 days continuously, and they were placed into the mice spontaneous activity apparatus after 60 minutes from the last administration, the times of spontaneous activities and the times of arising within 10 minutes were recorded after adaptation for 5 minutes. ② Synergistic action in hypnosia by Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of threshold dosage: Seventy mice were randomly divided into 5 groups as above-mentioned with 14 mice in each group, and they were treated the same as above. They were intraperitoneally injected with 50 mg/kg pentobarbital sodium after 60 minutes from the last administration, then conditions of falling asleep were observed. The disappearance of righting reflex was taken as the index of falling asleep, the latency of falling asleep was the duration from intraperitoneal injection of pentobarbital sodium to fall asleep, the sleeping time was from falling asleep to the disappearance of righting reflex. ③ Synergistic action in hypnosia by Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of sub-threshold dosage: Eighty mice were randomly divided into 5 groups as above-mentioned with 16 mice in each group, and they were treated the same as above. They were intraperitoneally injected with 27 mg/kg pentobarbital sodium after 60 minutes from the last administration. Mice whose righting reflex disappeared for at least 1 minute within 30 minutes were taken as falling asleep, the number of sleeping animals in each group was recorded, and the rate of falling asleep was calculated. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Synergistic action of Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of threshold and sub-threshold dosages in hypnosia and sedation. RESULTS: All the 200 mice were involved in the analysis of results. ① Influence of Yinao capsules on the spontaneous activity of mice: The times of spontaneous activities within 10 minutes in the large and middle dosage of Yinao capsules groups and Kangnaoshuai capsules group [(138.0±37.0), (156.8±28.3), (133.3±46.1) times] were obviously fewer than those in the control group [(204.3±61.3) times, P < 0.05–0.01]. The arising times within 10 minutes in the middle and small dosages of Yinao capsules groups and Kangnaoshuai capsules group [(30.7±18.3), (26.5±11.2), (24.2±11.6) times] were obviously fewer than those in the control [(71.7±38.6) times, P < 0.01]. ② Synergistic action in hypnosia by Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of threshold dosage: The sleeping latencies in the large and middle dosages of Yinao capsules groups and Kangnaoshuai capsules group [(4.49±1.84), (4.83±1.72), (3.85±1.94) minutes] were obviously shorter than that in the control group [(6.73±2.75) minutes, P < 0.05–0.01]. The sleeping time in the large, middle and small dosages of Yinao capsules groups and Kangnaoshuai capsules group [(89.0± 38.42), (67.21±24.07), (66.28±18.94), (84.36±29.81) minutes] were obviously longer than that in the control group [(45.78±20.78) minutes, P < 0.05–0.01]. ③ Synergistic action in hypnosia by Yinao capsules with pentobarbital sodium of sub-threshold dosage: The rates of falling asleep in the large and middle dosages of Yinao capsules groups were higher than that in the control group [56% (9/16), 38% (6/16), 6% (1/16), P < 0.01, 0.05], whereas Kangnaoshuai capsules and small dosage of Yinao capsules had no synergistic action with pentobarbital sodium of sub-threshold dosage (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Yinao capsules have synergistic action with pentobarbital sodium in hypnosia. 8Erosion of the prismatic layer by the organic matrix during the formation of the nacre-prism transition layer in the shell of Pinctada fucata (Bivalvia, Mollusca)显示文摘Three variants of the sequence of formation of the nacre-prism transition layer were observed in Pinctada fucata (Bivalvia, Mollusca) shells. In each case, the layer was formed by the organic matrix secreted by the mantle, together with the interprismatic organic envelope. The continuity of the organic phase throughout the shell was maintained as the new nacreous layer was formed on the nacre-prism transition layer. Changes in the interprismatic organic envelopes on either side of the nacre-prism transition zone indicated that the organic matrix of the nacre-prism transition layer becomes embedded into the organic phase of the prismatic layer. 9Facile Approach to Synthesize Gold Nanorod@Polyacrylic Acid/Calcium Phosphate Yolk–Shell Nanoparticles for Dual-Mode Imaging and pH/NIR-Responsive Drug Delivery显示文摘A facile strategy to fabricate gold nanorod@polyacrylic acid/calcium phosphate(Au NR@-PAA/Ca P) yolk–shell nanoparticles(NPs) composed with a PAA/Ca P shell and an Au NR yolk is reported. The asobtained Au NR@PAA/Ca P yolk–shell NPs possess ultrahigh doxorubicin(DOX) loading capability(1 mg DOX/mg NPs), superior photothermal conversion property(26%)and p H/near-infrared(NIR) dual-responsive drug delivery performance. The released DOX continuously increased due to the damage of the Ca P shell at low p H values. When the DOX-loaded Au NR@PAA/Ca P yolk–shell NPs wereexposed to NIR irradiation, a burst-like drug release occurs owing to the heat produced by the Au NRs. Furthermore,Au NR@PAA/Ca P yolk–shell NPs are successfully employed for synergic dual-mode X-ray computed tomography/photoacoustic imaging and chemo-photothermal cancer therapy. 10Optimization of a doxycycline hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex based on computational modeling显示文摘To prepare a stable complex of doxycycline(Doxy)and hydroxypropy-β-cyclodextrin(HP-β-CD)for ophthalmic delivery,the optimum formulation and preparation conditions were investigated using response surface methodology(RSM),artificial neural network(ANN)and support vector machine(SVM)modeling.The molar ratios of HP-β-CD/Doxy and Mg^(2+)/Doxy,inclusion time and temperature were selected as independent variables (X_(1)-X_(4)) and inclusion efficiency and stability of the Doxy-HP-β-CD complex were selected as dependent(response)variables(Y_(1) and Y_(2)).The optimal formulation predicted by genetic algorithm(GA)combined with the models was characterized by microscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry,and the stability of Doxy in the complex was evaluated.The highest values of Y_(1) and Y_(2) were obtained using an ANN model combined with GA which predicted the values of X_(1)-X_(4) to be 4,10.8,12 h and 25℃,respectively.The modeling and optimization results indicated that a feed-forward back-propagation ANN with one hidden layer and 10 hidden units showed better fitting to both responses compared to the RSM and SVM models.GA proved to be an efficient tool in multi­objective optimization of a pharmaceutical formulation.Zhouhua Wang Zixin He Lei Zhang Haohao Zhang Meimei Zhang Xinguo Wen Guilan Quan Xintian Huang Xin Pan Chuanbin Wu 2013Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013,3,2:2
11Electrodeposition of Pt-Decorated Ni(OH)_(2)/CeO_(2) Hybrid as Superior Bifunctional Electrocatalyst for Water Splitting显示文摘The facile synthesis of highly active and stable bifunctional electrocatalysts to catalyze water splitting is attractive but challenging.Herein,we report the electrodeposition of Pt-decorated Ni(OH)_(2)/CeO_(2)(PNC)hybrid as an efficient and robust bifunctional electrocatalyst.The graphite-supported PNC catalyst delivers superior hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)activities over the benchmark Pt/C and RuO_(2),respectively.For overall water electrolysis,the PNC hybrid only requires a cell voltage of 1.45V at 10mAcm-2 and sustains over 85 h at 1000mAcm^(-2).The remarkable HER/OER performances are attributed to the superhydrophilicity and multiple effects of PNC,in which Ni(OH)_(2)and CeO_(2)accelerate HER on Pt due to promoted water dissociation and strong electronic interaction,while the electron-pulling Ce cations facilitate the generation of high-valence Ni OER-active species.These results suggest the promising application of PNC for H2 production from water electrolysis.Huanhuan Liu Zhenhua Yan Xiang Chen Jinhan Li Le Zhang Fangming Liu Guilan Fan Fangyi Cheng 2020Research2020,,1:2
12A rapid forming method and simulation on controllable-porosity coating显示文摘A new method was introduced to fabricate porous coating and control its porosity by changing spray parameters. Two models were constructed to simulate the de- formation of droplet and the deposition process of splats on substrate. Considering the gap-pore, step-pore and shield-pore in the presented models, the influence of spray angle on the porosity of coating was mainly investigated. The simulation and experimental results show that the presented method is suitable for fabricating controllable-porosity coating. The porosity of coating can reach 49%. When the spray angle is lower than 30°, the porosity of coating rapidly increases because of shielding effect. Moreover, powder size and impact velocity also influence the po- rosity.
