| 1 | Inhibition effect of magnetic field on nitrous oxide emission from sequencing batch reactor treating domestic wastewater at low temperature显示文摘This study aims to investigate the effect of a magnetic field on nitrous oxide(N2O)emission from a sequencing batch reactor treating low-strength domestic wastewater at low temperature(10℃).After running for 124 days in parallel,results indicated that the conversion rate of N2O for a magnetic field-sequencing batch reactor(MF-SBR)decreased by34.3%compared to that of a conventional SBR(C-SBR).Meanwhile,the removal efficiencies for total nitrogen(TN)and ammonia nitrogen(NH4-N)of the MF-SBR were 22.4%and 39.5%higher than those of the C-SBR.High-throughput sequencing revealed that the abundances of AOB(Nitrosomonas),NOB(Nitrospira)and denitrifiers(Zoogloea),which could reduce N2O to N2,were promoted significantly in the MF-SBR.Enzyme activities(Nir)and gene abundances(nos Z nir S and nir K)for denitrification in the MF-SBR were also notably higher compared to C-SBR.Our study shows that application of a magnetic field is a useful approach for inhibiting the generation of N2O and promoting the nitrogen removal efficiency by affecting the microbial characteristics of sludge in an SBR treating domestic wastewater at low temperature. | Dan Xu Hongmin Ji Hongqiang Ren Jinju Geng Kan Li Ke Xu | 2020 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1: | 7 |
| 2 | Production and emission of phosphine gas from wetland ecosystems显示文摘Phosphine is a part of an atmospheric link of phosphorus cycle on earth, which could be an important pathway for phosphorus transport in environment.Wetland ecosystems are important locations for global biogeochemical phosphorus cycle.In this study, production and emission fluxes of free phosphine from four wetlands types in southern China were observed in different seasons.The results showed that the concentration of phosphine liberated from wetlands was at pg/m3-ng/m3 level.The emission concentrations of different wetlands followed the sequence:paddy field(51.83 ± 3.06) ng/m3 marsh(46.54 ± 20.55) ng/m3 > lake(37.05 ± 22.74) ng/m3 coastal wetland(1.71 ± 0.73) ng/m3, the positive phosphine emission flux occurred in rice paddy field(6.67 ± 5.18) ng/(m2·hr) and marsh(6.23 ± 26.9) ng/(m2·hr), while a negative phosphine flux of(-13.11 ± 35.04) ng/(m2·hr) was observed on the water-air interface of Lake Taihu, suggesting that paddy field and marsh may be important sources for phosphine gas in atmosphere, while lake may be a sink of atmospheric phosphine gas during the sampling period.Atmospheric phosphine levels and emission flux from Yancheng marsh and rice paddy field varied in different seasons and vegetational zones.Both diffusion resistance in aqueous phase and temperature were dominating factors for the production and transportation of phosphine to atmosphere. | Chao Han Xueyuan Gu Jinju Geng Yuning Hong Rui Zhang Xiaorong Wang Shixiang Gao | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,9: | 5 |

| 6 | The first determination of atmospheric phosphine in Antarctica显示文摘It is generally thought that phosphine (PH3) concentrations exist at the low ng/m3 level during the night and at the pg/m3 level during daylight in the remote atmosphere of the lower troposphere. The first de- termination of gaseous PH3 on the Antarctic Millor Peninsula is reported in this paper. No PH3 was de- tected in the air samples around 10:00 when it was sunny. However, PH3 was found in all the 10:00 air samples when it was cloudy or light snow with the average of 75.3±28.8 ng/m3 (n=5). It was also found in nearly all the samples around 22:00 with the average of 87.2±70.9 ng/m3 (n=11). Atmospheric PH3 concentrations around 22:00 were generally higher than those around 10:00 in January and they were almost the same in February. In addition, PH3 concentrations around 22:00 showed a downtrend with the decreasing air temperature, suggesting that light intensity and air temperature had an important effect on atmospheric PH3 concentration. It is very surprising to have found that high concentrations of PH3 exist in the Antarctic atmosphere under the influence of strong UV-radiation and light intensity. The tentative analyses show that dry, cold and very clean atmosphere may be very suitable for the PH3 sur- vival and cause the concentration to increase and accumulate in the local atmosphere. New ap- proaches for the PH3 formation and the process of atmospheric chemistry may exist under such an extreme environment. | 20 | Effects of DOM characteristics from real wastewater on the degradation of pharmaceutically active compounds by the UV/H_(2)O_(2) process显示文摘The characteristics of dissolved organic matter(DOM) can significantly affect the degradation of target compounds by the advanced oxidation processes. In this study, the effects of the different hydrophobicity/hydrophilicity fractions, molecular weight(MW) fractions,fluorescence components and molecular components of DOM extracted from municipal wastewater on the degradation of 4 pharmaceutically active compounds(Ph ACs), including carbamazepine, clofibric acid, atenolol and erythromycin by the UV/H_(2)O_(2) process were investigated. The results showed that the degradation rate constants of 4 Ph ACs decreased dramatically in the presence of DOM. The linear regressions of 4 Ph ACs degradation as a function of specific fluorescence intensity(SFI) are exhibited during the degradation of 4Ph ACs and the SFI may be used to evaluate effect of DOM on target compounds in wastewater. The hydrophobic acid(HPO-A) exhibited the strongest inhibitory effect on degradation of 4 Ph ACs during oxidation process. The small MW fractions of DOM significantly inhibited the degradation of 4 Ph ACs during oxidation process. Among three fluorescence components,hydrophobic humic-like substances may significantly inhibit the degradation of 4 Ph ACs during oxidation process. At the molecular level, the formulas may be derived from terrestrial sources. CHO compound may significantly inhibit the degradation of 4 Ph ACs during oxidation process on formula classes.
