1A putative plant organelle RNA recognition protein gene is essential for maize kernel development显示文摘Basal endosperm transfer layer(BETL) cells are responsible for transferring apoplastic solutes from the maternal pedicel into the endosperm,supplying the grain with compounds required for embryo development and storage reserve accumulation.Here,we analyze the maize(Zea mays L.) empty pericarp6(emp6) mutant,which causes early arrest in grain development.The Emp6 tgene function is required independently in both the embryo and endosperm.The emp6 mutant causes a notable effect on the differentiation of BETL cells;the extensive cell wall ingrowths that distinguish BETL cells are diminished and BETL marker gene expression is compromised in mutant kernels.Transposon tagging identified the emp6 locus as encoding a putative plant organelle RNA recognition(PORR) protein,1 of 15 PORR family members in maize.The emp6 transcript is widely detected in plant tissues with highest Researclevels in embryos and developing kernels.EMP6-green fluorescent protein(GFP) fusion proteins transiently expressed in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves were targeted specifically to mitochondria.These results suggest that BETL cell differentiation might be particularly energy intensive,or alternatively,that mitochondria might confer a developmental function.Antony M.Chettoor Gibum Yi Elisa Gomez Gregorio Hueros Robert B.Meeley Philip W.Becraft 2015Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2015,57,3:3
2Impact of formal training in endoscopic submucosal dissection for early gastrointestinal cancer: A systematic review and a meta-analysis显示文摘AIM: To summarize the clinical impact of a formal training for the effectiveness and safety of endoscopic submucosal dissection for gastrointestinal cancer.METHODS: We searched databases including PubM ed, EMBASE and the Cochrane Library and Science citation Index updated to August 2014 to include eligible articles. In the Meta-analysis, the main outcome measurements were en bloc resection rate, local recurrence rate(R0) and the incidence of procedure-related complications(perforation, bleeding). RESULTS: En bloc resection was high for both, dissecting stomach tumors with an overall percentage of 93.2%(95%CI: 90.5-95.8) and dissecting colorectal tumors with an overall percentage of 89.4%(95%CI: 85.1-93.7). Although the number of studies reporting R0 resection(the dissected specimen was revealed free of tumor in both vertical and lateral margins) was small, the overall estimates for R0 resection were 81.4%(95%CI: 72-90.8) for stomach and 85.9%(95%CI: 77.5-95.5) for colorectal tumors, respectively. The analysis showed that the percentage of immediate perforation and bleeding were very low; 4.96(95%CI: 3.6-6.3) and 1.4%(95%CI: 0.8-1.9) for colorectal tumors and 3.1%(95%CI: 2.0-4.1) and 4.8%(95%CI: 2.8-6.7) for stomach tumors, respectively. 3High levels of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus colonization on Medicago truncatula reduces plant suitability as a host for pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum)显示文摘This study sheds light on a poorly understood area in insect-plant-microbe interactions,focusing on aphid probing and feeding behavior on plants with varying levels of arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM)fungus root colonization.It investigates a commonly occurring interaction of three species:pea aphid Acyrthosiphon pisum,barrel medic Medicago truncatula,and the AM fungus Rhizophagus irregularis,examining whether aphid-feeding behavior changes when insects feed on plants at different levels of AM fungus colonization(42% and 84% root length colonized).Aphid probing and feeding behavior was monitored throughout 8 h of recording using the electrical penetration graph(EPG)technique,also,foliar nutrient content and plant growth were measured.Summarizing,aphids took longer to reach their 1st sustained phloem ingestion on the 84% AM plants than on the 42% AM plants or on controls.Less aphids showed phloem ingestion on the 84% AM plants relative to the 42% AM plants.Shoots of the 84% AM plants had higher percent carbon(43.7%)relative to controls(40.5%),and the 84% AM plants had reduced percent nitrogen(5.3%)relative to the 42% AM plants(6%).In conclusion,EPG and foliar nutrient data support the hypothesis that modifications in plant anatomy(e.g.,thicker leaves),and poor food quality(reduced nitrogen)in the 84% AM plants contribute to reduced aphid success in locating phloem and ultimately to differences in phloem sap ingestion.This work suggests that M.truncatula plants benefit from AM symbiosis not only because of increased nutrient uptake but also because of reduced susceptibility to aphids.Elisa Garzo Eric Rizzo Alberto Fereres S.Karen Gomez 2020Insect Science2020,27,1:1
4强效高选择性PPAR-α激动剂对致动脉粥样硬化性血脂紊乱或高胆固醇血症患者的影响—两项随机对照试验显示文摘背景:贝特类药物是一种较弱的过氧化体增殖物激活型受体仪(peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor-α,PPAR-α)激动剂。目前尚无有关效果更强、选择性更高的相关制剂的报道。 目的:研究PPAR-α激动剂LY518674的安全性和疗效。设计、地点及参试者:开展两项多中心、随机、双盲、安慰剂对照研究,其中一项针对高甘油三酯及低HDL-C血症患者(致动脉粥样硬化陛血脂紊乱),另一项针对高LDL-C患者(即高胆固醇血症)。2005年8月至2006年8月,参与血脂紊乱研究的研究人员在美国医疗中心随机入选309例患者,参与高胆固醇血症研究的研究人员入选304例患者。干预:在血脂紊乱研究中,患者服用安慰剂、非诺贝特(200mg)或LY518674(10μg、25μg、50μg或100μg),共12周。在高胆固醇血症研究中,患者首先服用安慰剂或阿托伐他汀(10mg或40mg)4周,然后服用安慰剂或LY518674(10μg或50μg)12周。主要观测指标:血脂紊乱研究的观测指标为HDL-C和甘油三酯变化的百分比,高胆固醇血症研究的观测指标为LDL-C变化的百分比。 结果:血脂紊乱研究显示,LY518674(25μg)和非诺贝特分别使HDL—C水平增加5.9mg/dL和5.5mg/dL(15.8%和14.4%)(与安慰剂相比P值均≤0.001,组间比较P:0.79)。更高剂量的LY518674对HDL.C水平的影响不大。LY518674可使甘油三酯水平降低97.3~114.5rag/dE(34.9%~41.7%),与非诺贝特效果相似。LY518674可使LDL—C水平呈剂量依赖性升高,100μg LY518674可使LDL—C升高20.4mg/dL(19.5%),而非诺贝特仅使LDL-C升高0.3mg/dL(2.3%)。非诺贝特和LY518674(50μg和100μg)均可增加血清肌酐值(与安慰剂相比P≤0.001),分别有38%和37.3%的患者肌酐值超出正常范围。非诺贝特还可增加磷酸肌酸激酶水平(与安慰剂相比P=0.004),LY518674则无此反应。高胆固醇血症研究显示,LY518674(10μg或50μg)可使LDL—C降低21.4~26.0mg/dL(13.2%~15.8%),使甘油三酯降低约37%,使HDL-C升高6.3~6.7mg/dL(12.5%~15.0%)。当与阿托伐他汀合用时,LY518674可使HDL.C变化-0.7~6.2mg/dL(-0.6%~11.9%),使甘油三酯显著降低,但对LDL—C无明显的进一步降低作用。 结论:在血脂紊乱患者中,LY518674和非诺贝特可降低甘油三酯水平,升高HDL-C水平,但同时也增加血清肌酐水平。与非诺贝特不同,LY518674还可升高LDL-C水平。在高胆固醇血症患者中,LY518674可降低甘油三酯水平,升高HDL-C水平,但与阿托伐他汀合用时并不能进一步降低LDL—C水平。非诺贝特和LY518674的安全陛均需进一步观察。Steven E.
