1Microstructures and impact toughness behavior of Al 5083 alloy processed by cryorolling and afterwards annealing显示文摘The influence of rolling at liquid nitrogen temperature and annealing on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Al 5083 alloy was studied in this paper.Cryorolled samples of Al 5083 show significant improvements in strength and hardness.The ultimate tensile strength increases up to 340 MPa and 390 MPa for the 30% and 50% cryorolled samples,respectively.The cryorolled samples,with 30% and 50% reduction,were subjected to Charpy impact testing at various temperatures from-190℃ to 100℃.It is observed that increasing the percentage of reduction of samples during cryorolling has significant effect on decreasing impact toughness at all temperatures by increasing yield strength and decreasing ductility.Annealing of samples after cryorolling shows remarkable increment in impact toughness through recovery and recrystallization.The average grain size of the 50% cryorolled sample(14 μm) after annealing at 350℃ for 1 h is found to be finer than that of the 30% cryorolled sample(25 μm).The scanning electron microscopy(SEM) analysis of fractured surfaces shows a large-size dimpled morphology,resembling the ductile fracture mechanism in the starting material and fibrous structure with very fine dimples in cryorolled samples corresponding to the brittle fracture mechanism.Dharmendra Singh P.Nageswara Rao R.Jayaganthan 2013International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2013,20,8:11
2Effect of Post Cryorolling Treatments on Microstructural and Mechanical Behaviour of Ultrafine Grained Al-Mg-Si Alloy显示文摘To investigate the effect of post cryorolling treatments on simultaneous enhancement in strength and ductility of ultrafine grained material(UFG),Al 6061 alloy was subjected to cryorolling followed by warm rolling(CR + WR)and compared with cryorolling followed by short annealing(CR + SA) at the same temperature.Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) was used to characterize the microstructural features of the processed material.The mechanical properties were investigated through Vickers hardness testing and tensile testing at room temperature.TEM,X-ray diffraction(XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) were used to investigate the precipitation evolution in UFG material.Results indicated that the alloy subjected to CR + WR has shown improved mechanical properties(114 HV,ultimate tensile strength(UTS):350 MPa) as compared to that in the case of CR + SA(105 HV,UTS:285 MPa).The size of the precipitates observed in CR + WR sample after peak ageing treatment is finer than that of peak aged CR + SA sample.The UTS of peak aged CR + WR sample(UTS:390 MPa) was found to be higher than that of peak aged CR 4- SA sample(UTS:355 MPa),without decrease in ductility.P.Nageswara rao Dharmendra Singh R.Jayaganthan 2014Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,10:8

10Does Glacial-Interglacial Transition Affect Sediment Accumulation in Monsoon-Dominated Regions?显示文摘The spatio-temporal changes in sedimentation rate along the continental margin of the monsoon-dominated eastern Arabian Sea during the last 24 kyr have been estimated from a compilation of 58 radiocarbon dated cores,in order to understand the effect of glacial-interglacial variation on sedimentation.The sedimentation rate has been computed for four-time slices,viz.the last glacial maximum,glacial-interglacial transition,early Holocene and late Holocene.We report that the average sedimentation rate in the slope to the abyssal region of the entire eastern Arabian Sea,although higher during the Holocene as compared with that during the last glacial maximum and glacial-interglacial transition,does not significantly vary during all four-time intervals.The sedimentation rate during any particular time interval,however,varies from core to core,thus indicating zonal changes.We report four zones of relatively high sedimentation rate,viz.the northeastern Arabian Sea,the region off the Gulf of Khambhat,the region off Goa and Mangalore,and off the southern tip of India.We suggest that a complex interaction of land-ocean-atmospheric processes controlled sedimentation rate in the eastern Arabian Sea during the last 24 kyr in such a way that the average sedimentation rate does not vary significantly,even during highly contrasting climatic conditions.Dharmendra Pratap SINGH Rajeev SARASWAT Dinesh K.NAIK 2017Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,3:1

12Structural,optical and antimicrobial properties of pure and Agdoped ZnO nanostructures显示文摘In the present work,zinc oxide(ZnO)and silver(Ag)doped ZnO nanostructures are synthesized using a hydrothermal method.Structural quality of the products is attested using X-ray diffraction,which confirms the hexagonal wurtzite struc-ture of pure ZnO and Ag-doped ZnO nanostructures.XRD further confirms the crystallite orientation along the c-axis,(101)plane.The field emission scanning electron microscope study reveals the change in shape of the synthesized ZnO particles from hexagonal nanoparticles to needle-shaped nanostructures for 3 wt%Ag-doped ZnO.The optical band gaps and lattice strain of nanostructures is increased significantly with the increase of doping concentration of Ag in ZnO nanostructure.The anti-microbial activity of synthesized nanostructures has been evaluated against the gram-positive human pathogenic bacteria,Staphylococcus aureus via an agarose gel diffusion test.The maximum value of zone of inhibition(22 mm)is achieved for 3 wt%Ag-doped ZnO nanostructure and it clearly demonstrates the remarkable antibacterial activity.Sagar Vikal Yogendra K.Gautam Anit K.Ambedkar Durvesh Gautam Jyoti Singh Dharmendra Pratap Ashwani Kumar Sanjay Kumar Meenal Gupta Beer Pal Singh 2022Journal of Semiconductors2022,43,3:0
13Immunochemical characterization of antigens of Brucella canis and their use in seroprevalence study of canine brucellosis显示文摘Objective:To explore immunochemical characterization of antigens of Brucella canis(B. canis),and the use in seroprevalence study of canine brucellosis.Methods:External hot phosphate buffer saline extract(HPBSE) and internal sonicated(SA) antigens were prepared from B.canis strain MEX 51 and imniunochemically characterized.These antigens were used to test 527 serum samples of dogs by 2-mercaptoethanol-tubc agglutination test(2 ME-TAT), agar gel immunodiffusion test(AGID).dot-ELISA and indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(I-ELISA) to assess the seroprevalence of canine brucellosis.Results:The protein content of HPBSE and SA antigens was 0.387 mg/ml.and 0.195 mg/mL,respectively,whereas carbohydrate content was 0.174 mg/mL and 0.150 mg/mL,respectively.The sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(12.5%) of HPBSE and SA,revealed 6 and 8 visible peptide bands ranging from 18-80 kDa and 12-45 kDa,respectively.Western blot analysis showed immunodominant bands of MW 12.28.39 and 45 kl)a for HPBSE and 20-24 kl)a for SA. The AGII) revealed HPBSE as more specific antigen than SA but both I-ELISA and dot-ELISA indicated SA antigen to be more specific and reliable than HPBSE.The seroprevalence of canine brucellosis was 2.27%by 2ME-TAT.1.5%by AGID.3.03%by dot-ELISA and 16.12%by I-ELISA. 15A New Fuzzy Adaptive Algorithm to Classify Imbalanced Data显示文摘Classification of imbalanced data is a well explored issue in the data mining and machine learning community where one class representation is overwhelmed by other classes.The Imbalanced distribution of data is a natural occurrence in real world datasets,so needed to be dealt with carefully to get important insights.In case of imbalance in data sets,traditional classifiers have to sacrifice their performances,therefore lead to misclassifications.This paper suggests a weighted nearest neighbor approach in a fuzzy manner to deal with this issue.We have adapted the‘existing algorithm modification solution’to learn from imbalanced datasets that classify data without manipulating the natural distribution of data unlike the other popular data balancing methods.The K nearest neighbor is a non-parametric classification method that is mostly used in machine learning problems.Fuzzy classification with the nearest neighbor clears the belonging of an instance to classes and optimal weights with improved nearest neighbor concept helping to correctly classify imbalanced data.The proposed hybrid approach takes care of imbalance nature of data and reduces the inaccuracies appear in applications of original and traditional classifiers.Results show that it performs well over the existing fuzzy nearest neighbor and weighted neighbor strategies for imbalanced learning.Harshita Patel Dharmendra Singh Rajput Ovidiu Petru Stan Liviu Cristian Miclea 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,1:0

18Anti-cancer effects of sitagliptin,vildagliptin,and exendin-4 on triple-negative breast cancer cells via mitochondrial modulation显示文摘Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)cell line MDA-MB-231 is known for Warburg metabolism and defects in mitochondria.On the other hand,dipeptidyl peptidase-IV(DPP-IV)inhibitors such as sitagliptin and vildagliptin and GLP-1 agonist exendin-4 are known to improve mitochondrial functions as well as biogenesis,but no study has evaluated the influence of these drugs on mitochondrial biogenesis on metastatic breast cancer cell line.We have recently reported anticancer effects of 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide riboside on MDA-MB-231 cells via activation of AMP-dependent kinase(AMPK),which activates the downstream transcription factors PGC-1α,PGC-1β,or FOXO1 for mitochondrial biogenesis;above-mentioned incretin-based therapies are also known to activate AMPK.This study evaluated the effects of sitagliptin,vildagliptin,and exendin-4 on MDA-MB-231 cells and the underlying changes in mitochondrial biogenesis,were examined.Treatment with sitagliptin(100μM),vildagliptin(100μM),and exendin-4(10 nM)for 72 h to MDA-MB-231 cells led to a decrease in viability indicated by MTT assay,cell migration by scratch,and transwell migration assays,accompanied with marginal reduction in cell numbers along with the apoptotic appearance,the rate of apoptosis,and decreased lactate content in conditioned medium.These changes in the cancer phenotype were accompanied by an increase in the mitochondrial DNA to nuclear DNA ratio,increased MitoTracker green and red staining,and increased expression of transcription factors PGC-1α,NRF-1,NRF-2,TFAM,and HO-1.Pre-treatment of cells with these incretin-based drugs followed by 48 h treatment with 1μM doxorubicin increased doxorubicin sensitivity as observed by a decrease in viability by MTT assay.Thus,sitagliptin,vildagliptin,and exendin-4 exert their beneficial effects on TNBC cells via an increase in mitochondrial biogenesis that helps to switch Warburg metabolism into anti-Warburg effect.Therapeutic response was in the order of:sitagliptin>vildagliptin>exendin-4.POOJA JAISWAL VERSHA TRIPATHI ANSHUL ASSAIYA DHARMENDRA KASHYAP RAHUL DUBEY ANAMIKA SINGH JANESH KUMAR HEM CHANDRA JHA RAJESH SHARMA AMIT KUMAR DIXIT HAMENDRA SINGH PARMAR 2022BIOCELL2022,46,12:0
19Effect of picking multiple colonies on antimicrobial susceptibility diagnostic outcome in a clinical bacteriology setting显示文摘giving results of antimicrobial susceptibility testing(AST)even if the infection is detected due to a single type of bacteria.However,what should be the minimum number of colonies?The clinical laboratory manuals are silent and give different numbers.Thus,the present study was conducted to evaluate the impact of picking up more than one colony for antimicrobial susceptibility.Method:The study was conducted on those clinical samples yielding Escherichia coli either as pure culture or as a prominent cause of infection.The impact of testing multiple colonies of Escherichia coli isolates was assessed on AST results through the detection of extended-spectrum β-lactamase(ESBL)producing and Metallo-β-lactamase(MBL)producing Escherichia coli carriage in clinical samples.Results:A total of 1031 samples having E.coli as the most prominent or single pathogen were analyzed.It included testing either one,two,three,four,five,or more than five(6-10)representative E.coli colonies from 526,247,115,76,31,and 36 samples,respectively.The study revealed that testing of less than three representative colonies significantly(p<0.05)impacts the outcome.However,the best outcome was when≥6 representative colonies were tested for AST.Conclusion:The study suggested that≥6 representative colonies should be emulsified for antimicrobial susceptibility tests not to miss possible infection with ESBL or MBL-producing mutants,even in mono-culture infections.Bhoj R Singh Dharmendra K Sinha Varsha Jayakumar Himani Agri Akanksha Yadav Ravichandran Karthikeyan 2023Infectious Diseases Research2023,4,2:0
