Microwave-assisted pyrolysis of vegetable oil soapstock:Comparative study of rapeseed, sunflower, corn, soybean, rice, and peanut oil soapstock显示文摘In this study, the effects of catalytic temperature and the type of soapstock on products from microwave-assisted pyrolysis were investigated.HZSM-5 was used as the catalyst to study the pyrolysis of six different soapstocks at 200℃,300℃,and 400℃ catalytic temperature. Results showed that the bio-oil yields initially increased and then decreased with the increase in catalytic temperature. When the catalytic temperature was 300℃,the bio-oil reached up to the maximum value(65.8 wt.%).Findings indicated that the composition of bio-oil was related to the degree of unsaturation of fatty acids sodium in the soapstocks. In the case of saturated fatty acid sodium,a series of alkanes was formed, whereas the pyrolysis of monounsaturated fatty acid sodium resulted mainly in cycloalkanes, the cycloalkenes obtained from bio-oil was produced by polyunsaturated fatty acid sodium. | Yunpu Wang Shumei Zhang Qiuhao Wu Dengle Duan Yuhuan Liu Roger Ruan Guiming Fu Leilei Dai Lin Jiang Zhenting Yu Zihong Zeng Xiaojie Tian Xiuhua Yang | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,6: | 3
Synthesis of Biodiesel Using ZrO_2 Polycrystalline Ceramic Foam Catalyst in a Tubular Reactor显示文摘With the help of the ceramic foam research efforts and preparation techniques, the ZrO2 polycrystalline ceramic foam catalyst was synthesized, and its characteristics, including the crystal structure, the phase composition, the acid–base properties, and the microstructure, were analyzed by XRD, SEM, Py-IR, and BET techniques. The performance of the ZrO2 polycrystalline ceramic foam catalyst in a tubular reactor was investigated via biodiesel synthesis using S. wilsoniana oil and methanol. The effects of reaction conditions(i.e., reaction temperature, reaction pressure, and volume ratio of methanol to S. wilsoniana oil) on transesterification efficiency were investigated, and the reaction conditions were optimized using RSM. The optimum reaction temperature, reaction pressure, and volume ratio of methanol to S. wilsoniana oil were determined to be 290 ℃, 10 MPa, and 4:1, respectively. Under this condition, the FAME content in the product oil reached 98.38%. The performance of the ZrO2 polycrystalline ceramic foam catalyst synthesized in this work for biodiesel synthesis from S. wilsoniana oil with a moisture content of 7.1% and an acid value of 130.697 mg KOH/g was examined, and the FAME content in the product oil was found to be 93% and 97.67%, respectively. The FAME content in the product oil exceeded 97% after five consecutive cycles(12 h per cycle of use) of the catalyst. The proposed catalyst represents a new type of solid catalyst with excellent acid resistance, water resistance, esterification efficiency, and catalytic stability. | Wang Yunpu Fan Liangliang Dai Leilei Liu Yuhuan Ruan Roger Liu Shitao Zhang Xueqin Wan Yiqin | 2015 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2015,17,3: | 3
Effects of Microwave Torrefaction with Mg(OH)2 on Characteristics of Bio-oil from Co-pyrolysis of Straw Stalk and Soapstock显示文摘This study investigated the effects of torrefaction with Mg(OH)2 on the properties of bio-oil formed from the microwave-assisted catalytic fast co-pyrolysis of straw stalk and soapstock. The effects of torrefaction temperature and residence time on the yield and composition of bio-oil were discussed. Results showed that the torrefaction temperature and residence time remarkably influenced the yield and composition of bio-oil.With the increase in temperature and time, the bio-oil yield and the proportion of oxygen-containing compounds decreased, while the proportion of aromatic compounds increased. When the feedstocks were subject to torrefaction reaction for 20 min at 260°C,the proportion of oxygen-containing compounds decreased from 29.89%to 16.49%.Meanwhile,Mg(OH)2 could render the deoxidization function of torrefaction process increasingly noticeable. The proportion of the oxygen-containing compounds reached a minimum(14.41%),when the biomass-to-Mg(OH)2 ratio was 1:1. | Wen Pingwei Zhou Yue Dai Leilei Wang Yunpu Liu Yuhuan Ruan Roger | 2019 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2019,21,3: | 1
Biorefinery process for production of bioactive compounds and bio-oil from Camellia oleifera shell显示文摘A biorefinery process was developed in this study to obtain bioactive compounds and bio-oil from Camellia oleifera shells.Four different extraction techniques(water,ethanol,ultrasound-assisted deionized water, and ultrasound-assisted ethanol)were utilized to extract tea saponin and tannin from C.oleifera shells. Results showed that ethanol had better extraction capacity than did deionized water, and ultrasound could promote the dissolution of tannin and tea saponin in solution. The thermogravimetric curves of the samples treated under the four conditions moved toward high temperatures. This phenomenon indicated the thermal stability of the residue was significantly improved. The pretreatment showed a slight effect on the chemical compositions of bio-oil.Specifically,the samples treated with ethanol and ultrasound-assisted deionized water contained higher phenol contents(81.07%and 81.52%,respectively)than the other samples. The content of organic acid decreased with an increase in the phenol content. | Yunpu Wang Linyao Ke Qi Yang Yujie Peng Yanzhe Hu Leilei Dai Lin Jiang Qiuhao Wu Yuhuan Liu Roger Ruan Guiming Fu | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,5: | 1
Three-Dimensional Hexagram Gold Nanoparticles: Synthesis and Growth Mechanism显示文摘This study explained a procedure to synthesize 3 D hexagram gold nanoparticles using a specific morphologically controlled gold precursor reduction. Acetaldehyde acted as the reducing agent along with polyvinyl pyrrolidone as the stabilizing agent with a limited reaction temperature range observed to be near to 25 °C. The resulting special gold nanoparticles were physically characterized and observed to possess an average planar size of 420 nm, an average central thickness of 200 nm, and an average edge thickness of 18 nm. Furthermore, a mechanism model was proposed to describe the oriented growth of gold nanoparticles employing published accounts of the mechanisms involved in the growth of gold hexagonal nanoplates. Moreover, the two major factors that controlled the morphology of synthesized gold nanoparticles were elaborated to provide reference for future fabrication methods of metal nanoparticles in both academia and industry. | Jinsheng Sun Ping Zhang Sheng Fu Leilei Dai Hongdan Wang | 2019 | Transactions of Tianjin University2019,25,1: | 0
Sliding behaviors of the trapezoidal roof rock block under a lateral dynamic disturbance显示文摘The surrounding rock of underground space is always affected by external dynamic disturbance from the side position, such as blasting vibration from a stope at the same level or seismic waves from adjacent strata.A series of laboratory tests, numerical simulations and theoretical analyses were carried out in this study to disclose the sliding mechanism of roof rock blocks under lateral disturbance.Firstly, the experiments on trapezoidal key block under various clamping loads and disturbance were conducted, followed by numerical simulations using the fast Lagrangian analysis of continua(FLAC3D).Then,based on the conventional wave propagation model and the classical shear-slip constitutive model,a theoretical model was proposed to capture the relative displacement between blocks and the sliding displacement of the key block. The results indicate that the sliding displacement of the key block increased linearly with the disturbance energy and decreased exponentially with the clamping load when the key block was disturbed to slide(without instability).Meanwhile, when the key block was disturbed to fall, two types of instability process may appear as immediate type or delayed type.In addition, the propagation of stress waves in the block system exhibited obvious low-velocity and lowfrequency characteristics, resulting in the friction reduction effect appearing at the contact interface, which is the essential reason for the sliding of rock blocks. The results can be applied to practical underground engineering and provide valuable guidance for the early detection and prevention of rockfalling disasters. | Feng Dai Wancheng Zhu Min Ren Shunchuan Wu Leilei Niu | 2024 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2024,16,3: | 0
Experimental and numerical simulation on the sliding process of roof rock blocks triggered by dynamic disturbance显示文摘With the excavation of underground opening, the roof rock block may fall under external dynamic disturbance. In this paper, the roof rock mass was simplified as a rock block system composed of trapezoidal rock blocks.A series of experiments and numerical simulations were performed to study the sliding process of the key block under the horizontal static clamping load and vertical impact disturbance. The propagation of stress wave in the block system were captured and analyzed by using high-speed camera and digital image correlation technique. The results reveal that a pendulum-type wave was generated due to the propagation and superposition of stress waves in the block system. Therefore, the governing mechanism of the sliding displacement of the key block was clarified based on the propagation of incident stress waves or pendulum-type waves.Meanwhile,it is found that the sliding distance of the key block decreases in a power function with the increasing friction coefficient,or decreases in a parabolic function with the increasing trapezoid internal angle. Finally,a case study on the roof block sliding of the roadway at a gold mine was conducted, and it is concluded that the sliding of the key block resulted from the coupled effects of'shear driving'and'low friction'driven by stress wave propagation, regardless of a single or multi-layer rock block system. These results may provide technical guideline for preventing rock-falling accidents caused by blasting distur-bances in underground mining. | Feng Dai Wancheng Zhu Min Ren Leilei Niu Chen Hou | 2023 | Underground Space2023,,3: | 0
