| 1 | Precise nanomedicine for intelligent therapy of cancer显示文摘Precise nanomedicine has been extensively explored for efficient cancer imaging and targeted cancer therapy, as evidenced by a few breakthroughs in their preclinical and clinical explorations. Here, we demonstrate the recent advances of intelligent cancer nanomedicine, and discuss the comprehensive understanding of their structure-function relationship for smart and efficient cancer nanomedicine including various imaging and therapeutic applications, as well as nanotoxicity. In particular, a few emerging strategies that have advanced cancer nanomedicine are also highlighted as the emerging focus such as tumor imprisonment, supramolecular chemotherapy, and DNA nanorobot. The challenge and outlook of some scientific and engineering issues are also discussed in future development. | 2 | Interferon as a Mucosal Adjuvant for an Influenza Vaccine in Pigs显示文摘Interferon,a natural protein that is produced by a variety of cells during viral infection,activates the transcription of multiple functional genes in cells,regulates synergy among various signaling pathways,and mediates many biological functions such as antiviral activity,immune regulation,and cell growth.However,clinical research on interferon in livestock is lacking.In this study,recombinant porcine interferon(PoIFNα)was used as an adjuvant,in combination with inactivated influenza virus,to vaccinate 6-week-old pigs via nasal infusion.The transcription of target genes was then monitored and the functions of PoIFNαwere determined with respect to the activation of mucosal immunity.We found that a combination of low-dose PoIFNαand in activated influenza virus could significantly up-regulate the expression of immunoregulatory cytokines such as IL-2,IL-1β,IFN-γ,IL-6,and IL-10 by real-time PCR,suggesting the induction of a strong mucosal innate immune response after administration.In addition,low-dose PoIFNαcan significant enhancing the transcription of genes encoding homing factors including CCR9 and CCR10(P<0.001),thereby resulting in the induction of higher levels of HA-specific antibodies(P<0.05),which can be determined by ELISA and IFA.Post-immunization challenges with H1N1 virus demonstrated that PoIFNot,combined with inactivated influenza virus,could alleviate clinical signs in pigs during the early stages of viral infection.These studies reveal low-dose PoIFNαas a potential mucosal adjuvant for influenza virus in pigs. | Lirong Liu Wenhui Fan He Zhang Shuang Zhang Liang Cui Meng Wang Xiaoyuan Bai Wenxian Yang Lei Sun Limin Yang Wenjun Liu Jing Li | 2019 | Virologica Sinica2019,34,3: | 3 |
| 3 | Development and Application of a Regional Land Subsidence Model for the Plain of Tianjin显示文摘In this paper, a coupled numerical groundwater and land subsidence model was developed for the Tianjin Plain. The model was employed to investigate the groundwater resources and their changes over the last decade, and to further predict the changing patterns of the groundwater level and associated land subsidence in future. First, according to the regional hydrogeology, the simulation area was defined with an area of 10.6×103 km2, which was divided into six aquifer units. A coupled groundwater and land subsidence numerical model was built by using Modflow2005 and the land subsidence simulation module SUB(subsidence and aquifer-system compaction), in which the groundwater flow was modeled as three-dimensional unsteady flow and the land subsidence simulation was based on one-dimensional consolidation theory. The model was then calibrated by using the groundwater level contour lines, hydrographs, and land subsidence hydrographs over the period of 1998–2008. In addition, groundwater balance analysis of the simulation period indicated that under multi-year groundwater withdrawal condition the cross-flow recharge, compression release, and lateral boundary inflow contributed 44.43%, 32.14%, and 21.88% to the deep aquifer recharge, respectively. Finally, the model was applied to predict the changing patterns of the groundwater levels and the associated variations in land subsidence under the control of groundwater exploitation after implementation of the south-to-north water diversion project. | 4 | Phylogenetic Analysis of the Dengue Virus Strains Causing the 2019 Dengue Fever Outbreak in Hainan,China显示文摘Dengue virus is an arthropod-borne pathogen that is transmitted to humans primarily by Aedes spp.mosquitos,causing the acute infectious disease,dengue fever(DF).Until 2019,no dengue outbreak had been reported in Hainan Province for over 20 years.However,in early September of 2019,an increasing number of infected cases appeared and the DF outbreak lasted for over one month in Haikou City,Hainan Province.In our study,we collected 97 plasma samples from DF patients at three hospitals,as well as 1585 mosquito larvae samples from puddles in different areas of Haikou.There were 49(50.5%)plasma samples found to be strongly positive and 9(9.3%)plasma samples were weakly positive against the NS1 antigen.We discovered DENV both in the patient's plasma samples and mosquito larvae samples,and isolated the virus from C6/36 cells inoculated with the acute phase serum of patients.Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the new strains were the most closely related to the epidemic strain in the southern regions of China,belonging to lineageⅣ,genotypeⅠ,DENV-1.Compared to the seven closest strains from neighboring countries and provinces,a total of 18 amino acid mutations occurred in the coding sequences(CDS)of the new isolated strain,DENV1 HMU-HKU-2.Our data shows that dengue virus is re-emerged in Hainan,and pose new threats for public health.Thus regular molecular epidemiological surveillance is necessary for control and prevention of DENV transmission. | Jiang Du Liyuan Zhang Xiaoyuan Hu Ruoyan Peng Gaoyu Wang Yi Huang Wenqi Wang Kunliang Wu Qiang Wang Haoxiang Su Fan Yang Yun Zhang Chuanning Tang Xiuji Cui Lina Niu Gang Lu Meifang Xiao Yongguo Du Feifei Yin | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,4: | 2 |

| 8 | Design of an Index System for Deep Groundwater Management Efficiency Evaluation: A Case Study in Tianjin City, China显示文摘An effective evaluation system can provide specific and practical suggestions to the deep groundwater management. But such kind of evaluation system has not been proposed in China. In this study, an evaluation index system is specifically developed to evaluate deep groundwater management efficiency. It is composed of three first-level indicators(law enforcement capability, management ability, and management effectiveness) and eleven second-level indicators. The second-level indicators include seven mandatory indicators and four optional indicators. Piecewise linear function is used to normalize the quantitative indicators, and expert scoring method and questionnaire survey method are used to normalize the qualitative indicators. Then a comprehensive indicator weighting evaluation method is used to evaluate the first-level indicators and the target topic. A case study is carried out to evaluate deep groundwater management efficiency in Tianjin City. According to the evaluation score in each period, the management efficiency of every district in Tianjin City gradually improved. The overall evaluation score in the early deep groundwater extraction period is 0.12. After a series of deep groundwater protection efforts, this score reached to 0.61 in 2007, and met the regulation criteria. The evaluation results also showed that the further groundwater management efforts in Tianjin City should be focused on building a dynamic database to collect comprehensive deep well-log data; and on a reasonable design and distribution of the groundwater monitoring network. It demonstrated that the index system is suitable to locate the deficiencies of current groundwater management systems and to guide further improvements. | 14 | Determination of Impurity Silicon in Anticancer Drug (Ge-132) by Electrothermally Atomised Atomic Absorption Spectrometry with Optical Temperature Control Accessory显示文摘The present paper describes the ashing and atomization processes in silicon analysis by electrothermally atomised atomic absorption spectrometry(EAAAS) with an uncoat-ed graphite tube, a pyrolytically coated graphite tube and a tungsten-coated graphitetube. The sensitivity and linear range of three graphite tubes were compared. By using optical temperature control accessory, the signals are enhanced by a factor of 2 and the germanium interferences in the determination of silicon are eliminated. The effects of time constant and carrier gas flow-rate on the determination of silicon were also tested. The sample can be directly analyzed in its aqueous solution without any pretreatment. The measurements of samples containing 0. 2 μg/mL and 0. 4 μg/mL silicon were run ten times and the variation coefficient is 4. 9% and 2.6%, respectively.
