1Features of colorectal cancer in China stratified by anatomic sites:A hospital-based study conducted in university-affiliated hospitals from 2014 to 2018显示文摘Objective:The clinical and biological characteristics of colorectal cancer have been found to differ depending on the anatomic site of the cancer.However,for Chinese patients,there is limited information on the proportion of cases at each site and the related features.In this study,we explored the location,distribution and other features of colorectal cancers at each anatomic site in Chinese patients.Methods:We conducted a hospital-based study using hospitalization summary reports from 10 Peking University-affiliated hospitals from 2014 to 2018;the reports covered a total of 2,097,347 hospitalizations.Incident cases were chosen as the study population,and their epidemiological features were further analyzed.Results:A total of 20,739 colorectal cancer patients were identified.Rectum was the most common location(48.3%)of the cancer,whereas the proportions of patients with distal and proximal colon cancer were 24.5%and18.6%,respectively.Patients with rectal cancer were predominantly male and were the youngest for all anatomical sites(each P<0.001).The highest proportion of emergency admissions,the longest hospital stays and the highest hospitalization costs were found in patients with proximal colon cancer(each P<0.001).The proximal colon cancer subgroup included the highest proportions of patients with medical histories of cholecystectomy,cholecystolithiasis and/or gallbladder polyps and appendectomy(P=0.009,P<0.001 and P<0.001,respectively).The distal colon cancer subgroup included the highest proportions of patients with medical histories of diabetes and hypertension(P<0.001,respectively).Conclusions:The patterns of colorectal cancer observed in this study differ from those reported for Western patients and show a significantly higher proportion of patients with rectal cancer.Different epidemiological features were also found based on anatomic sites.Further studies based on tumor location should be conducted to facilitate more accurate screening and treatment.Ruize Qu Yanpeng Ma Liyuan Tao Xiaoyuan Bao Xin Zhou Bingyan Wang Fei Li Siyi Lu Lin Tuo Siyan Zhan Zhipeng Zhang Wei Fu 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,4:10
2Status and development of high-power laser facilities at the NLHPLP显示文摘In this paper, we review the status of the multifunctional experimental platform at the National Laboratory of High Power Laser and Physics(NLHPLP). The platform, including the SG-II laser facility, SG-II 9th beam, SG-II upgrade(SG-II UP) facility, and SG-II 5 PW facility, is operational and available for interested scientists studying inertial confinement fusion(ICF) and a broad range of high-energy-density physics. These facilities can provide important experimental capabilities by combining different pulse widths of nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond scales. In addition, the SG-II UP facility, consisting of a single petawatt system and an eight-beam nanosecond system, is introduced including several laser technologies that have been developed to ensure the performance of the facility. 3Dynamically measuring the holo-information of light fields in three-dimensional space using a periodic polarization-structured light显示文摘Spatially structured light field has attracted great attention due to its novel properties and application potential in numerous fields.Among them,the most striking one is the polarization-structured light,known as the vector beam.Here,using a periodic polarization-structured light,we propose a method to dynamically measure the holo-information of light fields,including the amplitude,phase,and polarization distributions,in three-dimensional(3D)space.The measurement system is composed of a Mach-Zender interferometer involving a liquid crystal polarized grating in the reference arm,which is simple,stable,and easy to operate.Featuring the single-shot measurement,this method supports observing the dynamic variation of object light fields.The accuracy,3D polarimetry,and dynamic observation of this method are validated by measuring a calibrated quarter-wave plate,a vector vortex beam,a Poincarébeam,and a stressed polymethyl methacrylate sample.ShuXia Qi Sheng Liu Lei Han BingYan Wei Peng Li JinZhan Zhong XuYue Guo JianLin Zhao 2021Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,6:3

5Conserved profiles of digestion by double restriction endonucleases in insect genomes facilitate the design of dd RAD显示文摘Double-digested Restriction Site Associated DNA Sequencing(ddRAD) through next-generation sequencing(NGS) generates large numbers of loci for characterizing genomewide variation among multiple samples using next-generation sequencing. Different combinations of restriction endonucleases(REs) may produce varying size distributions of digested fragments, which affect the number of genotyped loci. Understanding digestion profiles across different species will help in selecting REs for digestion in a particular organism. In this study, we use of genome sequences to compare the in silico digestion profile of 26 combinations of REs in 131 insect species with two simulation programs. The number of digested fragments in the 300–450 bp range increases linearly with the size of the genome. Different species and insect orders showed similar profiles when digested by different combinations of REs in silico, indicating the conservation of digestion by double enzymes in insect genomes. Combinations with Nla III or TaqαI usually produced higher number of fragments in the range 300–450 bp, while combinations with EcoRI or MluCI produced fewer fragments. The proportion of fragments with the same overhangs at the two ends of digested DNA was higher than those with different overhangs. The two four-base enzyme pairs produced more fragments in the 300–450 bp range than pairs of four-base + six-base enzymes. Experimental digestion of three species from Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera and Thysanoptera showed profiles congruent with in silico expectations. 6A general and facile calcination method to synthesize single-site catalysts for highly efficient electrochemical CO_(2) reduction显示文摘The electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)has received widespread attention as a promising method for producing sustainable chemicals and mitigating the global warming.Here,we demonstrate a general and facile synthetic route for the metal-nitrogen-carbon(M-N-C)type catalyst by simply calcinating metal acetate and urea with commercial carbon black,which have potential application in CO_(2)RR.The synthesized Ni-NC-600 catalyst has the structure of single Ni atom coordinated with one N atom and three C atoms(Ni-N_(1)C_(3)),which is suggested by X-ray absorption spectroscopy.The Ni-NC-600 catalyst exhibits high CO_(2)RR catalytic performance and a high CO Faraday efficiency above 98%in a wide potential range from-0.7 to-1.3 V(vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)),superior to most of the reported Ni-N-C catalysts.This work has developed a facile strategy to synthesize high performance CO_(2)RR catalyst.Rui Sui Bingyan Wang Yongsheng Wang Jiajing Pei Wei Zhu Wenxing Chen Chunhui Li Ailing Sun Zhongbin Zhuang 2024Nano Research2024,17,5:0
7Properties and Structure of PEO Treated Aluminum Alloy显示文摘Plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)coatings were formed on 7075 aluminum alloy in silicate-borate based electrolyte with different duty cycles.The physical and chemical properties of the PEO coatings were thoroughly investigated.The wearing and corrosion properties of the coatings were evaluated by wearing experiments and potentiodynamic polarization tests,respectively.The results showed that the micro-hardness of the coatings first increased and then decreased with the increasing duty cycle.As a results,the wearing resistance of the coatings first increased and then decreased with the increasing duty cycle.Composition analysis proved that the coatings were mainly composed ofα-Al_(2)O_(3)andγ-Al_(2)O_(3).The presence of wear scars on the worn surface morphology demonstrates that the three-body rolling was the main wear mechanism for coated specimen.The corrosion study showed that the coating formed in the mixed electrolyte with duty cycle of 80%showed the most superior corrosion resistance.施渊吉 WANG Yanyan CHENG Cheng 郭训忠 TENG Bingyan YU Zhaopeng LI Junwan LI Wei 2021Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2021,36,3:0
8Metasurface for oscillatory spin splitting along the optical path显示文摘Spin splitting of light originates from the interplay between the polarization and spatial degrees of freedom as a fundamental constituent of the emerging spin photonics,providing a prominent pathway for manipulating photon spin and developing exceptional photonic devices.However,previously relevant devices were mainly designed for routing monotonous spin splitting of light.Here,we realize an oscillatory spin splitting of light via metasurface with two channel Pancharatnam–Berry phases.For the incidence of a linearly polarized light,the concomitant phases arising from opposite spin states transition within pathways of the metasurface induce lateral spin splitting of light with alternately changed transport direction during beam guiding.We demonstrate the invariance of this phenomenon with an analogous gauge transformation.This work provides a new insight on steering the photon spin and is expected to explore a novel guiding mechanism of relativistic spinning particles,as well as applications of optical trapping and chirality sorting.YU LI XINHAO FAN XUYUE GUO YI ZHANG SHENG LIU BINGYAN WEI DANDAN WEN PENG LI JIANLIN ZHAO 2022Photonics Research2022,10,9:0
9Controllable oscillated spin Hall effect of Bessel beam realized by liquid crystal Pancharatnam-Berry phase elements显示文摘Pancharatnam–Berry (PB) phase has become an effective tool to realize the photonic spin Hall effect (PSHE) in recent years, due to its capacity of enhancing the spin-orbit interaction. Various forms of PSHEs have been proposed by tailoring the PB phase of light, however, the propagation trajectory control of the separated spin states has not been reported. In this paper, we realize the oscillated spin-dependent separation by using the well-designed PB phase optical elements based on the transverse-to-longitudinal mapping of Bessel beams. Two typical oscillated PSHEs, i.e., the spin states are circulated and reversed periodically, are experimentally demonstrated with two PB phase elements fabricated with liquid crystal. The displacements and periods of these oscillations can be controlled by changing the transverse vector of the input Bessel beam. 10Linear and nonlinear photonic spin Hall effect induced by analog circular birefringence of Bessel-like beams显示文摘The spin Hall effect of a light beam is essentially a product of circular birefringence but is rarely demonstrated.Here,we provide a scheme for initiating off-axis circular birefringence based on the spin-dependent wave vector bifurcation of Bessel beams via a single liquid crystal Pancharatnam–Berry phase element.The tilted Bessel beam shows a detectable photonic spin Hall effect.By introducing the nonlinear propagation trajectories,the spin Hall effect is greatly enhanced.More surprisingly,the two spin states exactly propagate along the scaled trajectories,enabling flexible control of the spin separation.This phenomenon is also applicable to other Bessel-like beams with nonlinear trajectories,which have been already reported.YANKE LI YU ZOU SHENG LIU PENG LI BINGYAN WEI JIANLIN ZHAO 2023Photonics Research2023,11,9:0
11Visible frequency broadband dielectric metahologram by random Fourier phase-only encoding显示文摘In recent years,metasurfaces that enable the flexible wavefront modulation at sub-wavelength scale have been widely used into holographic display,due to its prominent advantages in polarization degrees of freedom,viewing angle,and achromaticity in comparison with traditional holographic devices.In holography,the computational complexity of hologram,imaging sharpness,energy utilization,reproduction rate,and system indirection are all determined by the encoding method.Here,we propose a visible frequency broadband dielectric metahologram based on the random Fourier phase-only encoding method.Using this simple and convenient method,we design and fabricate a transmission-type geometric phase all-dielectric metahologram,which can realize holographic display with high quality in the visible frequency range.This method encodes the amplitude information into the phase function only once,eliminating the cumbersome iterations,which greatly simplifies the calculation process,and may facilitate the preparation of large area nanoprint-holograms.XuYue Guo Peng Li BingJie Li Sheng Liu BingYan Wei Wei Zhu JinZhan Zhong ShuXia Qi JianLin Zhao 2021Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,1:0
