| 1 | Vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers for data communication and sensing显示文摘Vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers(VCSELs) are the ideal optical sources for data communication and sensing.In data communication, large data rates combined with excellent energy efficiency and temperature stability have been achieved based on advanced device design and modulation formats. VCSELs are also promising sources for photonic integrated circuits due to their small footprint and low power consumption. Also, VCSELs are commonly used for a wide variety of applications in the consumer electronics market. These applications range from laser mice to three-dimensional(3 D) sensing and imaging, including various 3 D movement detections, such as gesture recognition or face recognition. | 2 | Studies on Antiviral and Immuno-Regulation Activity of Low Molecular Weight Fucoidan from Laminaria japonica显示文摘The antiviral activity in vitro and in vivo and the effect of the immune system of two fucoidan fractions with low molecular weight and different sulfate content from Laminaria japonica(LMW fucoidans) were investigated in order to examine the possible mechanism. In vitro, I-type influenza virus, adenovirus and Parainfluenza virus I were used to infect Hep-2, Hela and MDCK cells, respectively. And 50% tissue culture infective dose was calculated to detect the antiviral activity of two LMW fucoidans. The results indicated that compared with the control group, 2 kinds of LMW fucoidans had remarkable antiviral activity in vitro in middle and high doses, while at low doses, the antiviral activity of 2 kinds of LMW fucoidans was not statistically different from that in the blank control group. And there was no statistically difference between two LMW fucoidans in antiviral activity. In vivo, LMW fucoidans could prolong the survival time of virus-infected mice, and could improve the lung index of virus-infected mice significantly, which have statistical differences with the control group significantly(p < 0.01). However, the survival time of the two LMW fucoidans was not statistically significant(p > 0.05). | 3 | Study on Antithrombotic and Antiplatelet Activities of Low Molecular Weight Fucoidan from Laminaria japonica显示文摘The antithrombotic and antiplatelet effects of two fucoidan fractions with low molecular weight and different sulfate content from Laminaria japonica were compared in order to examine the influence of chemical character on their antithrombotic activity and the possible mechanism. Both LMW fucoidan fractions exhibited favorable antithrombotic activity in an Fecl3-induced arterial thrombosis. The antithrombotic activity of LMW fucoidan was related with decrease of TXB2 and whole blood viscosity and hematocrit. LMW fucoidan showed a correlation between anticoagulant, antiaggregant and antithrombotic effects in vivo. For LMW fucoidan, antithrombotic activity required high dose of 5-10 nmol kg-1, concomitantly with increase in anticoagulant activity and inhibition of platelet aggregation. Administration of LMW fucoidan significantly promoted the 6-keto-PGF1α content and decreased the TXB2 content, indicating its inhibition of tissue factor pathway and regulation of metabolism of arachidonic acid. To explore the direct effect of LMW fucoidan on the platelet system furthermore and examine the possible mechanism, the endothelial protection and inhibits platelet activation effects of two LMW fucoidan were investigated. In the present study, Endothelial injury model of rats was made by injection of adrenaline(0.4 mg kg-1) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells were cultured. v WF level was be investigated in vivo and in vitro as an important index of endothelial injury. LMW fucoidan could significantly reduce v WF level in vascular endothelial injury rats and also significantly reduce v WF level in vitro. The number of EMPs was be detected as another important index of endothelial injury. The results showed that LMW fucoidan reduced EMPs stimulated by tumor necrosis factor. In this study, it was found that by inhibiting platelet adhesion, LMW fucoidan played a role in anti-thrombosis and the specific mechanism of action is to inhibit the flow of extracellular Ca2+. | 10 | Formulation and in vitro characterization of long-acting PLGA injectable microspheres encapsulating a peptide analog of LHRH显示文摘The present study aimed to formulate triptorelin acetate(TA)into poly(D,L-lactic-co-glycolic)acid(PLGA)based injectable sustained-release microspheres(TA-PLGA-MS)by usingdouble emulsion solvent extraction/evaporation(DESE)technique and investigate the effects of various material attributes and process parameters on the quality attributes such as size,shape,surface morphology,encapsulation efficiency(EE)and in vitro release behavior of these microspheres.Variable compositions of the outer water phase,type of the organic solvents,volume ratios of inner water phase to oil phase,PLGA concentrations,and the powers for emulsification in the preparation of the microspheres showed an influence on their quality attributes.An optimal formulation(F-2)obtained from this univariate approach possess an excellent EE value of 63.5%±3.4%and an average volumetric particle size of 35.3±1.8μm.This formulation was further accomplished with different solidification rates assisted by variable incubation temperatures,which exhibited an impact on the shape/surface and inner morphology of the microspheres.The resultant microspheres also displayed different in vitro release patterns.The matrices processed with a high incubation temperature conferred the fastest and the most complete drug release profile over the period of 63 days.Thus,the solidification rate could be identified as one of the critical process parameters that affected the quality of the PLGA based injectable microspheres specifically designed for the prolonged delivery of TA. | Chengqian Zhang Lan Wu Anjin Tao Hriday Bera Xing Tang Dongmei Cun Mingshi Yang | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,4: | 1 |

Linaclotide is a 14-amino acid peptide approved by the FDA for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with constipation(IBS-C), which activates guanylate cyclase C to accelerate intestinal transit. Drug molecule design based on structural information plays a crucial role and the activity of linaclotide still need to improve, while the structure of linaclotide remains unknown. In this work, linaclotide and its D-enantiomer were obtained through Fmoc solid phase peptide synthesis method and co-crystalized through racemic crystallization. | 15 | Demonstration of electrically injected vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers with post-supported high-contrast gratings显示文摘We experimentally demonstrate for the first time to our knowledge electrically injected vertical-cavity surfaceemitting lasers(VCSELs) with post-supported high-contrast gratings(HCGs) at 940 nm. The HCG-VCSELs have two posts to support the air-suspended HCGs, which are realized by simple fabrication without critical point drying. The HCG-VCSEL achieves a threshold current of about 0.65 m A and a side-mode suppression ratio of 43.6 d B under continuous-wave operation at 25℃. Theoretically the HCG-VCSEL with a λ∕2-cavity for the transverse magnetic polarization has a smaller effective mode length of 1.38 ·(λ∕n). Thus, the relaxation resonance frequency can be increased by 16% compared with that of the conventional VCSEL. The modulation speed of 100 Gbit/s for the HCG-VCSEL is expected in the on–off keying modulation format. | 16 | Kelp Fucoidans Facilitate Vascular Recanalization via Inhibiting Excessive Activation of Platelet in Deep Venous Thrombosis Model of Mouse显示文摘This study was carried out explore the mechanism underlying the inhibition of platelet activation by kelp fucoidans in deep venous thrombosis(DVT)mouse.In the control and sham mice,the walls of deep vein were regular and smooth with intact intima,myometrium and adventitia.The blood vessel was wrapped with the tissue and there was no thrombosis in the lumen.In the DVT model,the wall was uneven with thicken intima,myometrium and adventitia.After treated with fucoidans LF1 and LF2,the thrombus was dissolved and the blood vessel was recanalized.Compared with the control group,the ROS content,ET-1 and VWF content and the expression of PKC-βand NF-κB in the model were significantly higher(P<0.05);these levels were significantly reduced following treatments with LF2 and LF1.Compared with H_(2)O_(2)treated-HUVECs,combined LF1 and LF2 treatment resulted in significant decrease in the expression of PKC-β,NF-κB,VWF and TM protein(P<0.05).It is clear that LF1 and LF2 reduces DVT-induced ET-1,VWF and TM expressions and production of ROS,thus inhibiting the activation of PKC-β/NF-κB signal pathway and the activation of coagulation system and ultimately reducing the formation of venous thrombus. | SUN Taohua LIU Jie YAN Taishan CHEN Anjin ZHANG Fang | 2024 | Journal of Ocean University of China2024,23,2: | 0 |
| 17 | Tyrosine promotes anthocyanin biosynthesis in pansy(Viola×wittrockiana)by inducing ABA synthesis显示文摘Viola×wittrockiana(pansy)is an important ornamental plant,particularly during winter and spring.In previous studies,we found that the tyrosine decarboxylase gene of pansy(VwTYDC)was expressed differently in blotched and non-blotched areas of pansy petals,suggesting that tyrosine may have a role in anthocyanin biosynthesis.In this study,we found that virus-induced gene silencing of VwTYDC caused an accumulation of pink pigmentation in pansy petals.Likewise,exogenous tyrosine treatment(TYRT)induced the formation of black stripes in nonblotched petal areas.Metabolome analysis indicated that the contents of two anthocyanins,cyanidin-3-O-glucoside and cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside,increased significantly in the TYRT areas.RT-qPCR results revealed that the anthocyanin-related genes VwHCT,VwC3′H,VwCHS,and VwUGT were upregulated in the same areas.Transcriptome analysis revealed that four genes involved in the abscisic acid(ABA)biosynthesis pathway(VwNCED,VwABA2,VwAAO3,and VwCYP707A)were significantly upregulated in the same TYRT areas.ABA content was measured by ESI-HPLCMS/MS,and ABA content was significantly higher in TYRT areas than in control areas.In addition,when exogenous ABA was spread onto nonblotched petal areas,anthocyanin biosynthesis genes were upregulated just as with tyrosine.Thus,transcriptome and metabolite analyses revealed a possible novel regulatory network for anthocyanin biosynthesis in which tyrosine induces ABA synthesis and ABA then promotes anthocyanin biosynthesis in pansy petals. | Zheng Cui Jia Gu Jie Li Anjin Zhao Yingge Fu Tongxin Wang Tingge Li Xueqing Li Yuhui Sheng Ying Zhao Xiqiang Song Yang Zhou Ting Peng Jian Wang | 2022 | Tropical Plants2022,1,1: | 0 |
| 18 | A novel photonic crystal vertical cavity surface emitting laser based on coherent coupling显示文摘We demonstrate a novel oxide confined GaAs-based photonic crystal vertical cavity surface emitting laser (PC-VCSEL) operating at a wavelength of 850 nm based on coherent coupling. A ring-shaped light-emitting aperture is added to the conventional PC-VCSEL, and coherent coupling is achieved between the central defect aperture and the ring-shaped light-emitting aperture. Measurements show that under the continuous-wave (CW) injected current of 20 mA, a high power of 2 mW is obtained, and the side mode suppression ratio (SMSR) is larger than 20 dB. The average divergence angle is 4.2° at the current level of 20 mA.
