1Phylogenetic relationships of native and introduced Bemisia tabaci (Homoptera:Aleyrodidae) from China and India based on mtCOI DNA sequencing and host plant comparisons显示文摘Phylogenetic relationships for Bemisia tabaci were reconstructed by analysis of a ~780 bp fragment of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (mtCOI) gene with an emphasis on geographic range and distribution among eight eudicot plant families that are common hosts of B. tabaci worldwide to elucidate key phylogeographic linkages between populations extant in China (n=31) and India (n=34). Bootstrap values for the Maximum Parsimony tree were highly robust for all major nodes involving the major Asian clade, subgroups, and sister groups within, at 92%—100%. Between-clade distances for the Southeast Asia and three other major clades, e.g. from sub-Sahara Africa, North Africa-Mediterranean, and the Americas, were approximately >16% divergent. Two major Asian subgroups (I, II) were resolved, which represented populations indigenous to the region, comprising two (I a, I b) and five (II a—e) sister groups, respectively, which diverged by 11%. Two distinct populations from sunflower in Hyderabad grouped separately within the two Asian subgroups. All other populations grouped uniquely within Asian subgroup II or I. The 'B' biotype was identified in 23 collections from China at 97.3%—99.5% nucleotide identity with 'B' biotype reference sequences; it was not identified in collections from India. The majority of haplotypes were associated with 3—4 plant families, with one exception that for sister group IId (sesame, India), it might be monophagous. Thus, B. tabaci from the southeastern and near eastern regions of the Asian continent comprise of a large number of ancestral, richly divergent, mostly polyphagous populations. This region is therefore hypothesized to constitute an important Old World center of diversification for the B. tabaci complex, together with sub-Saharan Africa.Qiu Baoli Susan A. 2Bulk and bubble-scale experimental studies of influence of nanoparticles on foam stability显示文摘Influence of silicon oxide(SiO_2) and aluminum oxide(Al_2O_3) nanoparticles on the stability of nanoparticles and sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) mixed solution foams was studied at bulk and bubble-scale. Foam apparent viscosity was also determined in Hele-Shaw cell In order to investigate the foam performance at static and dynamic conditions. Results show that the maximum adsorption of surfactant on the nanoparticles occurs at 3 wt% surfactant concentration. Foam stability increases while the foamability decreases with the increasing nanoparticle concentration. However, optimum nanoparticle concentration corresponding to maximum foam stability was obtained at 1.0 wt% nanoparticle concentration for the hydrophilic SiO_2/SDS and Al_2O_3/SDS foams. Foam performance was enhanced with increasing nanoparticles hydrophobicity. Air-foams were generally more stable than CO_2 foams.Foam apparent viscosity increased in the presence of nanoparticles from 20.34 mPa·s to 84.84 mPa·s while the film thickness increased from 27.5 μm to 136 μm. This study suggests that the static and dynamic stability of conventional foams could be improved with addition of appropriate concentration of nanoparticles into the surfactant solution. The nanoparticles improve foam stability by their adsorption and aggregation at the foam lamellae to increase film thickness and dilational viscoelasticity. 3Effect of Primary and Eutectic Mg_2Si Crystal Modifications on the Mechanical Properties and Sliding Wear Behaviour of an Al–20Mg_2Si–2Cu–xBi Composite显示文摘This work investigated the microstructure evolution, tensile, impact, hardness, and sliding wear properties of an Al–20Mg_2Si–2Cu in situ composite treated with different Bi contents. The desired modification of primary Mg_2 Si particles was achieved with the addition of 0.4 wt% Bi. Increasing Bi beyond 0.4 wt%resulted in a loss of modification, possibly due to the formation of Al_8 MgB iS i4 compound before the precipitation of the primary Mg_2 Si. Additionally, the structure of the pseudo-eutectic Mg_2 Si was transformed from plate to fibrous, which was consistent with decrease of growth temperature extracted from the cooling curve thermal analysis. Addition of Bi had an effect on the morphology of Al_5 Fe Si(β), Al_2Cu(θ) and Al_5Cu_2Mg_8Si_6(Q) intermetallic compounds. The tensile strength, elongation percentage, impact toughness, and hardness increased by 6%, 13%, 75%, and 23%, respectively, due to modification of both the primary and eutectic Mg_2 Si crystals. The tensile and impact fracture surfaces showed fewer decohered particles in the Bi-treated composite. 416例脑结核瘤抗结核治疗系列观察显示文摘目的:报告16例颅内结核瘤患者的临床、影像学表现及抗结核治疗的结果。设计:本文共纳入苏丹Khartoun市全国神经系统疾病中心连续观察的16例脑结核瘤患者。诊断则依据其临床、头颅影像学特征及对抗结核治疗有效等方面。本组中共有7例具有脑组织或脑外组织的病理组织学资料。结果与结论:本组病例最常见的临床表现是头痛(100%)、全身性抽搐(68.7%)及偏瘫(56.2%)。头颅横断面电子计算机体层摄影(CT)/核磁共振成像(MRI)显示单个或多个明显增强的病变及病灶周围水肿。经抗结核治疗后,多数存活患者(13/15)病变完全吸收。病变部分吸收与就诊延迟、颅内多个大病灶及晚期粟粒性结核病有关。我们主张对颅内结核瘤,即使是拟诊病例,应早期经验性试用抗结核治疗,尤其在结核病高发地区。M. 6Influence of Gating System,Sand Grain Size,and Mould Coating on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Thin-Wall Ductile Iron显示文摘Two gating systems namely stepped and tapered runners were used to cast strip samples with different thicknesses by CO2/silicate process using sand grain sizes of AFS 151 and 171.To assess the effect of mould coating on the properties of thin-wall ductile iron,half of the moulds were coated whilst the rest were not coated.Molten metal with the carbon equivalent of 4.29% was prepared and poured at 1450 ℃.Microstructure of the specimens was analyzed by optical and scanning electron microscopes.Count,area fraction,roundness and diameter of the graphite nodules of the samples were measured by image analyzer.Brinell hardness and tensile tests of all the samples were also conducted.The results show that by using stepped runner gating system with uncoated and coarse sand mould,roundness and count of the graphite nodules decrease whereas diameter and area fraction increase.Although fine sand and coated mould cause longer distance of molten metal travel,hardness and strength of the samples decrease.Hassan Jafari Mohd Hasbullah Idris Ali Ourdjini Majid Karimian Gholamhassan Payganeh 2010Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2010,17,12:2
7Software Project Management Approaches for Global Software Development: A Systematic Mapping Study显示文摘Global Software Development(GSD) is a well established field of software engineering with the benefits of a global environment. Software Project Management(SPM) plays a key role in the success of GSD. As a result, the need has arisen to study and evaluate the downsides of SPM for GSD, to thereby pave the way for the development of new methods, techniques, and tools with which to tackle them. This paper aims to identify and classify research on SPM approaches for GSD that are available in the literature, to identify their current weaknesses and strengths, and to analyze their applications in industry. We performed a Systematic Mapping Study(SMS) based on six classification criteria. Eighty-four papers were selected and analyzed. The results indicate that interest in SPM for GSD has been increasing since 2006. As a class of approaches, the most frequently reported methods(40%) are those used for coordination, planning, and monitoring, along with estimation techniques that can be used to better match a distributed project. SPM for GSD requires further investigation by researchers and practitioners, particularly with respect to cost and time estimations. 11Improved process monitoring using the CUSUM and EWMA-based multiscale PCA fault detection framework显示文摘Process monitoring techniques are of paramount importance in the chemical industry to improve both the product quality and plant safety.Small or incipient irregularities may lead to severe degradation in complex chemical processes,and the conventional process monitoring techniques cannot detect these irregularities.In this study to improve the performance of monitoring,an online multiscale fault detection approach is proposed by integrating multiscale principal component analysis(MSPCA) with cumulative sum(CUSUM) and exponentially weighted moving average(EWMA) control charts.The new Hotelling's T~2 and square prediction error(SPE) based fault detection indices are proposed to detect the incipient irregularities in the process data.The performance of the proposed fault detection methods was tested for simulated data obtained from the CSTR system and compared to that of conventional PCA and MSPCA based methods.The results demonstrate that the proposed EWMA based MSPCA fault detection method was successful in detecting the faults.Moreover,a comparative study shows that the SPEEWMA monitoring index exhibits a better performance with lower values of missed detections ranging from 0% to 0.80% and false alarms ranging from 0% to 21.20%.Muhammad Nawaz Abdulhalim Shah Maulud Haslinda Zabiri Syed Ali Ammar Taqvi Alamin Idris 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,1:1

13Hyper Elliptic Curve Based Certificateless Signcryption Scheme for Secure IIoT Communications显示文摘Industrial internet of things (IIoT) is the usage of internet of things(IoT) devices and applications for the purpose of sensing, processing andcommunicating real-time events in the industrial system to reduce the unnecessary operational cost and enhance manufacturing and other industrial-relatedprocesses to attain more profits. However, such IoT based smart industriesneed internet connectivity and interoperability which makes them susceptibleto numerous cyber-attacks due to the scarcity of computational resourcesof IoT devices and communication over insecure wireless channels. Therefore, this necessitates the design of an efficient security mechanism for IIoTenvironment. In this paper, we propose a hyperelliptic curve cryptography(HECC) based IIoT Certificateless Signcryption (IIoT-CS) scheme, with theaim of improving security while lowering computational and communicationoverhead in IIoT environment. HECC with 80-bit smaller key and parameterssizes offers similar security as elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) with 160-bitlong key and parameters sizes. We assessed the IIoT-CS scheme security byapplying formal and informal security evaluation techniques. We used Realor Random (RoR) model and the widely used automated validation of internet security protocols and applications (AVISPA) simulation tool for formalsecurity analysis and proved that the IIoT-CS scheme provides resistance tovarious attacks. Our proposed IIoT-CS scheme is relatively less expensivecompared to the current state-of-the-art in terms of computational cost andcommunication overhead. 14Jack up reliability analysis:An overview显示文摘Jack up is a mobile unit used for oil and gas exploration and production in offshore fields.On demand,the unit is moved and installed in a given location and used for a period up to 12months before being un-installed and moved to another location.Due to its mobility and re-usability,when the unit is offered for use in a given offshore location,its suitability in terms of safe operation is evaluated in accordance with the guidelines of Site Specific Assessment (SSA)of jack up.When the unit failed safety assessment criteria,the guideline recommended that it is re-assessed by increasing the complexity of the assumptions and methods used.Reliability analysis theories are one of the frameworks recommended for the safety assessment of the units.With recent developments in uncertainty and reliability analysis of structures subject to stochastic excitation,this study aims at providing a review on the past developments in jack up reliability analysis and to identify possible future directions.The results from literature reviewed shows that failure probabilities vary significantly with analysis method used.In addition,from the variants of reliability analysis approach,the method of time dependent reliability for dynamic structures subject to stochastic excitation have not been implemented on jack ups. 17Scalability of biomass-derived graphene derivative materials as viable anode electrode for a commercialized microbial fuel cell: A systematic review显示文摘Microbial fuel cell(MFC) is an advanced bioelectrochemical technique that can utilize biomass materials in the process of simultaneously generating electricity and biodegrading or bio transforming toxic pollutants from wastewater. The overall performance of the system is largely dependent on the efficiency of the anode electrode to enhance electron transportation. Furthermore, the anode electrode has a significant impact on the overall cost of MFC setup. Hence, the need to explore research focused towards developing cost-effective material as anode in MFC. This material must also have favourable properties for electron transportation. Graphene oxide(GO) derivatives and its modification with nanomaterials have been identified as a viable anode material. Herein, we discussed an economically effective strategy for the synthesis of graphene derivatives from waste biomass materials and its subsequent fabrication into anode electrode for MFC applications. 18Spatiotemporal Analysis of Land Use Land Cover Mapping and Change Detection in Dambatta Local Government Area显示文摘This research studied the spatiotemporal changes in land use(LU)/land cover(LC)in Dambatta local government area,with a view to identifying the effect arising from the observable changes in land use patterns.The imageries used in the study were obtained from the National Space Research and Development Agency(NARSDA),Abuja.Spatial analytical techniques and descriptive statistical techniques were employed to analyze the data.The results showed 66.8%reduction in agricultural lands,45.5%reduction in vegetation cover,223.2%increase in built-up areas,269.1%increase in bare lands and 70%increase in water bodies within the 20 years.Spatio-temporal analysis of the three imageries revealed that agricultural lands were largely been taken over by urbanization while vegetation had rapidly given way to bare lands within the 20 years.It was observed that these changes resulted from anthropogenic activities,environmental factors and climate change.These result in the loss of farmlands,inadequate food supply,unemployment,inadequate industrial raw materials,reduction in revenue generated,forest depletion,desertification,wildlife extinction and temperature increase.While it is recommended that reforestation,land reclamation and irrigation agriculture should be promoted in the area,it is also suggested that further research should focus on the impact of climate change on land cover change in the area.David Sesugh Aule Mamman Saba Jibril Ali Hussain Idris 2023Journal of Geographical Research2023,6,3:0
19Epidemiology of extra pulmonary tuberculosis in Eastern Sudan显示文摘Objective: To investigate the epidemiological factors associated with extra pulmonary tuberculosis(EPTB) in Kassala, Eastern Sudan.Methods: Patients infected with TB(pulmonary and extra-pulmonary) documented at the hospital were interviewed with a structured questionnaire used to gather socio-demographic information. The diagnosis of EPTB cases was based on presence of tuberculous granulomas in the histological samples, positive PCR to DNA of mycobacterium tuberculosis, radiological i ndings and l uid analysis suggestive of EPTB and clinical diagnosis with adequate response to anti-tuberculous therapy.Results: A total of 985 patients with TB were enrolled in the study, including 761(77.3%) with PTB and 224(22.7%) with EPTB. The mean age(SD) of patients with PTB and EPTB was 33.2(15.4) and 34.7(14.6) years respectively. The prevalence of EPTB was at(22.7%), with TB lymphadenitis 79(35.3%), marking the frequent form of EPTB followed by peritoneal TB 27(12.05%). While residence and occupation were not associated with EPTB, those with lower level of education(OR = 0.3; coni dence intervals(CI) = 0.2-0.5; P < 0.001), female(OR = 8.7, CI = 4.9-15.1, P < 0.001), non vaccination(OR=70.3, CI = 34.2-144.3, P < 0.001), and non smoker(OR = 0.1; CI = 0.06-0.20; P < 0.001), were associated with high prevalence of EPTB. Conclusions: Around one quarter of patients with TB in this study were more likely to have EPTB. 20High levels of Zinc-α-2-Glycoprotein among Omani AIDS patients on combined antiretroviral therapy显示文摘Objective:To investigate the levels of zinc-α-2-glycoprotein(ZAG) among Omani AIDS patients receiving combined antiretroviral therapy(cART).Methods:A total of 80 Omani AIDS patients(45 males and 33 females),average age of 36 vears.who were receiving cART at the Saltan Qaboos University Hospital(SQUH).Muscat,Oman,were tested for the levels of ZAG.In addition,SO healthy blood donors(46 males and 34 females),average age of 26 years,attending the SOUH Blood Bank,were tested in parallel as a control group.Measurement of the ZAG levels was performed using a competitive enzyme—linked immunosorbent assay and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.Results:The ZAG levels were found to he significantly higher among AIDS patients compared to the healthy individuals(P=0.033).A total of 56(70%) of the AIDS patients were found to have higher levels of ZAG and 16(20%) AIDS patients were found to have high ZAG levels,which are significantly(P>0.031) associated with weight loss.Conclusions:ZAG levels are high among Omani AIDS patients on cART and this necessitales the measurement of ZAG on routine basis,as it is associated with weight loss.Sidgi Syed Anwer Hasson Mohammed Saeed Al-Balushi Muzna Hamed Al Yahmadi Juma Zaid Al-Busaidi Elias Antony Said Mohammed Shafeeq Othman Talal Abdullah Sallam Mohammed Ahmad Idris Ali Abdullah Al-Jabri 2014Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2014,4,8:0
