| 1 | Optimizing aerobic biodegradation of dichloromethane using response surface methodology显示文摘Response surface methodology(RSM) was employed to evaluate the optimum aerobic biodegradation of dichloromethane(DCM) in pure culture.The parameters investigated include the initial DCM concentration,glucose as an inducer and hydrogen peroxide as terminal electron acceptor(TEA) .Maximum aerobic biodegradation effciency was predicted to occur when the initial DCM concentration was 380 mg/L,glucose 13.72 mg/L,and H2O2 115 mg/L.Under these conditions the aerobic biodegradation rate reached up to 93.18%,which was significantly higher than that obtained under original conditions.Without addition of glucose,degradation effciencies were 80%at DCM concentrations<326 mg/L.When concentrations of DCM were more than 480 mg/L,the addition of hydrogen peroxide did not help to significantly increase DCM degradation effciency.When DCM concentrations increased from 240 to 480 mg/L,the overall DCM degradation effciency decreased from 91%to 60%in the presence of H2O2 for 120 mg/L. | WU Shijin,YU Xiang,HU Zhihang,ZHANG Lili,CHEN Jianmeng College of Biological and Environmental Engineering,Zhejiang University of Technology,Hangzhou 310032,China | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,9: | 13 |

| 3 | Prevalence and risk factors of HIV and syphilis,and knowledge and risk behaviors related to HIV/AIDS among men who have sex with men in Chongqing,China显示文摘High HIV prevalence and incidence burdens have been reported in men who have sex with men(MSM)in Chongqing,China.We aimed to estimate the prevalence of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections(STIs),to appraise the knowledge and risk behaviors related to HIV/AIDS among MSM,and to analyze the possible causes of deviation between behavior and knowledge to make better strategies.We recruited 617 MSM from February to July in 2008 by using a respondent-driven sampling(RDS) method in Chongqing,China.Through the collection of questionnaire-based data and biological testing results from all objects,we launched a crosssectional survey.STATA/SE was used for data analysis by frequency,ANOVA,rank sum test and logistic regression models.MSM with syphilis(OR=4.16,95%CI:2.35-7.33,P<0.0001) were more likely to be HIV infected.Being a company employee(OR=3.64,95%CI:1.22-10.08,P<0.0001) and having bought male for sex(OR=3.52,95%CI:1.10-11.32,P<0.034) were associated with a higher probability of syphilis.MSM with younger age,higher education and greater monthly income had a higher mean knowledge score.MSM who had HIV testing had a higher mean knowledge score than those who never had.Students,venues for finding sex partners by Internet and homosexuals in MSM had a higher mean knowledge score compared to other occupations,venues for finding sex partners and sexual orientation.There is an urgent need for delivery of barrier and biomedical interventions with coordinated behavioral and structural strategies to improve the effect of HIV interventions among MSM. | Wenzhe Ma Guohui Wu Hui Zheng Wenjuan Zhang Zhihang Peng Rongbin Yu NingWang | 2016 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,2: | 9 |

| 5 | A unified algorithm for mobility load balancing in 3GPP LTE multi-cell networks显示文摘3GPP long term evolution (LTE) is a promising candidate for the next-generation wireless network, which is expected to achieve high spectrum efficiency by using advanced physical layer techniques and flat network structures. However, the LTE network still faces the problem of load imbalance as in GSM/WCDMA networks, and this may cause significant deterioration of system performance. To deal with this problem, mobility load balancing (MLB) has been proposed as an important use case in 3GPP self-organizing network (SON), in which the serving cell of a user can be selected to achieve load balancing rather than act as the cell with the maximum received power. Furthermore, the LTE network aims to serve users with different quality-of-service (QoS) requirements, and the network-wide objective function for load balancing is distinct for different kinds of users. Thus, in this paper, a unified algorithm is proposed for MLB in the LTE network. The load balancing problem is first formulated as an optimization problem with the optimizing variables being cell-user connections. Then the complexity and overhead of the optimal solution is analyzed and a practical and distributed algorithm is given. After that, the proposed algorithm is evaluated for users with different kinds of QoS requirements, i.e., guaranteed bit rate (GBR) users with the objective function of load balance index and non-GBR (nGBR) users with the objective function of total utility, respectively. | 15 | A power adjustment based e ICIC algorithm for hyper-dense Het Nets considering the alteration of user association显示文摘This paper evaluates power adjustment based enhanced inter-cell interference coordination(e ICIC)problem in the hyper-dense Het Net under the practical serving cell selection rule where each user selects the base station with the strongest received signal power as its serving cell while the alteration of the serving cell happens during the power adjusting process. In this paper, the e ICIC problem is solved by cooperatively adjusting the transmission power of all small cells. A power adjustment method based on modified particle swarm optimization(MPSO) is proposed to tackle the NP-hard e ICIC problem caused by the alteration of the serving cell, and considering the drawbacks of MPSO, an improved MPSO is proposed for effective algorithm.Local search and multi-restart process are introduced in the improved MPSO based e ICIC algorithm to guarantee the local and then global optimality, and the convergence conditions and the global optimality are proved by mathematical deduction to guide the selection of the parameters. Simulations show that, while considering the fifty-picocell case as an example, the proposed improved MPSO based e ICIC algorithm can increase the system throughput by 66.0% compared with the full power transmission, and compared with the existing schemes which do not alter the serving cells, the proposed algorithm can improve the system throughput by 32.2%. | 18 | A survey of HIV infection and related high-risk factors among men who have sex with men in Suzhou,Jiangsu,China显示文摘A cross-sectional study using the snowball sampling method was conducted in May 2008 to investigate human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection status and related high risk factors among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Suzhou city of Jiangsu province. The researchers carried out a face-to-face questionnaire interview among MSM, and collected their blood samples to test for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Among the 280 respondents, 91.1% had homosexual acts in the past 6 months and 87.5% had multiple homosexual partners; 46.4% had heterosexual sex in the past 6 months and 33.1% had multiple heterosexual partners. The rate of continued condom use was 44.3% in homosexual sex in the past 6 months, while the rate in heterosexual sex was 33.9%. Laboratory test results showed that the prevalences of HIV and syphilis were 7.1% (20/280) and 15.0% (42/280), respectively, but no HCV-positive person was found. In the multivariate logistic regression model, subjects with a monthly income of more than RMB $ 1,000 (OR=4.83,95% CI=1.44-16.22), subjects who often went to bars for sexual partners (OR=2.25, 95%CI=1.21-4.20), and subjects who had more than one sexual partner in the past 6 months (OR=0.49, 95%CI=0.25-0.97) and had sex with fixed sexual partners in the past 6 months (OR=0.42, 95%CI=0.25-0.75) were significantly associated with the rate of continued condom use in homosexual sex in the past 6 months. Unprotected sex and multiple sexual partners were more common among MSM in Suzhou city; furthermore, the prevalences of HIV infection and syphilis were relatively high. | 19 | Linking key intervention timings to rapid declining effective reproduction number to quantify lessons against COVID-19显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is currently under a global pandemic trend.The efficiency of containment measures and epidemic tendency of typical countries should be assessed.In this study,the efficiency of prevention and control measures in China,Italy,Iran,South Korea,and Japan was assessed,and the COVID-19 epidemic tendency among these countries was compared.Results showed that the effective reproduction number(Re)in Wuhan,China increased almost exponentially,reaching a maximum of 3.98 before a lockdown and rapidly decreased to below 1 due to containment and mitigation strategies of the Chinese government.The Re in Italy declined at a slower pace than that in China after the implementation of prevention and control measures.The Re in Iran showed a certain decline after the establishment of a national epidemic control command,and an evident stationary phase occurred because the best window period for the prevention and control of the epidemic was missed.The epidemic in Japan and South Korea reoccurred several times with the Re fluctuating greatly.The epidemic has hardly rebounded in China due to the implementation of prevention and control strategies and the effective enforcement of policies.Other countries suffering from the epidemic could learn from the Chinese experience in containing COVID-19. | Zhihang Peng Wenyu Song Zhongxing Ding Quanquan Guan Xu Yang Qiaoqiao Xu Xu Wang Yankai Xia | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,5: | 2 |
| 20 | Associations of IFN-γ rs2430561 T/A,IL28B rs12979860 C/T and ERα rs2077647 T/C polymorphisms with outcomes of hepatitis B virus infection:a meta-analysis显示文摘Several studies investigated associations of IFN-γ rs2430561 T/A,IL28 B rs12979860 C/T and ERα rs2077647 T/C gene polymorphisms with outcomes of hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection,but the results were controversial.Therefore,we performed a meta-analysis of all published observational studies to address this inconsistency.Literature was searched in online database and a systematic review was conducted based on the search results.A total of 24 studies were included and dichotomous data were presented as odds ratio(OR) with a 95%confidence interval(CI).The rs2430561 T allele was associated with reduced persistent HBV infection risk(T vs.A:OR,0.690;95%CI,[0.490,0.971]),while the rs2077647 T allele significantly increased the risk of persistent HBV infection(T vs.C:OR.1.678;95%CI,[1.212,2.3231).Rs 2077647 CC might play a role in protecting individuals against HBV persistence(TT vs.CC:OR,4.109;95%CI,[2.609,6.473]).Furthermore,carriers of the rs2430561 TT genotype were more likely to clear HBV spontaneously compared with those of the AA genotype(TT vs.AA:OR,0.555;95%CI,[0.359,0.856]).For rs12979860 C/T polymorphism,no significant correlation with HBV infection outcomes was found.In subgroup analyses,the results were similar to those of overall analysis.However,for rs2077647 TT vs.TC+CC,significantly increased risks were observed in the Asian and hospital-based population,but not in the overall analysis.IFN-γrs2430561 T/A and ERα rs2077647 T/C genetic polymorphisms were associated with outcomes of HBV infection,but no association was found between IL28 B rs12979860 C/T and HBV infection. | Shaidi Tang Ming Yue Jiajia Wang Yun Zhang Rongbin Yu Jing Su Zhihang Peng Jie Wang | 2014 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,6: | 2 |
