1Effect of cypermethrin insecticide on the microbial community in cucumber phyllosphere显示文摘Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is one of the most widely used vegetable in the world,and different pesticides have been extensively used for controlling the insects and disease pathogens of this plant.However,little is known about how the pesticides affect the microbial community in cucumber phyllosphere.This study was the first attempt to assess the impact of pyrethroid insecticide cyperemethrin on the microbial communities of cucumber phyllosphere using biochemical and genetic approaches.Phospholipid fatty acid (PLFA) assay indicated that cyperemethrin insecticide treatment led to a significant increase in both total and bacterial biomass and a decrease in fungal biomass and the ratio of Gram-positive (GP) bacteria to Gram-negative (GN) bacteria within the cucumber phyllosphere.Principal-component analyses (PCA) suggested that the number of unsaturated and cyclopropane PLFAs (16:1ω9t,18:1ω7,cy17:0,cy19:0) increased with the insecticide treatment,whereas the saturated PLFA i16:0,i17:0 decreased.The increase of GN bacteria implied that the cypermethrin insecticide might be a nutrient for the growth of these phyllosphere microbes.Terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) reinforced the PLFA results.A significant change of bacterial community structure was observed in the separate dendrogram cluster between control and treated samples with the cucumber phyllosphere following cypermethrin insecticide treatment.Moreover,the increased terminal restriction fragments (T-RFs) (58,62,89,99,119,195,239,311,340,and 473 bp) indicated that some bacteria might play a significant role in the insecticide degradation within the cucumber phylosphere,whereas the disappeared T-RFs (44,51,96,223,306,and 338 bp) implied that some other bacteria might potentially serve as microbial indicator of cyperemethrin insecticide exposure.Baoguo ZHANG Zhihui BAI 2008Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,11:19
2Jianpijiedu Fang improves survival of hepatocarcinoma mice by affecting phosphatase and tensin homolog, phosphoinositide 3-kinase, and focal adhesion kinase显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Jianpijiedu Fang (JPJDF) on phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN), phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), and focal adhesion kinase (FAK), and on the survival of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) nude mice. METHODS: Forty male nude mice were randomly divided into 4 groups. Human HCC tissue was implanted in the livers of three groups. After 24 h, the three groups were treated respectively with JPJDF (37.5 g/kg), saline (20 mL/kg) and Tegafur (FT-207, 160 mg/kg) once a day for 10 weeks. The control group without implanting the tissue was concurrently treated with saline (20 mL/kg). The survival data and body weight of all mice were recorded, and expression levels of PTEN, PI3K and FAK in normal tissue and cancer tissue of the livers were eval-uated with immunohistochemical method. RESULTS: The cumulative survival rate of the mice in the JPJDF group was higher than those of the other groups. The rate of weight loss was the lowest in JPJDF group. The survivability and weight loss rate in FT-207 group were the poorest in all groups. The expression intensity of PTEN was higher in normal tissues than in cancer tissues, and lower in the normal tissues of HCC models than in that of mice without HCC. The PTEN expression intensity in normal tissue and cancer tissue from mice treated with FT-207 were lower than that from the mice treated with JPJDF or saline.The expression intensity of PI3K was higher in cancer tissue than in normal tissue. The PI3K expression intensity was the lowest in normal tissue and cancer tissue from mice treated with JPJDF, and the intensity from mice treated with FT-207 was the highest. In mice treated with JPJDF, the expression intensity of FAK was higher in the normal tissue and lower in the cancer tissue than those of the other treatment groups. 3Underlying mechanism of protection from hypoxic injury seen with n-butanol extract of Potentilla anserine L. in hippocampal neurons显示文摘The alcohol and n-butanol extract of Potentilla anserine L. significantly protects myocardium from acute ischemic injury. However, its effects on rat hippocampal neurons and the mechanism of protection remain unclear. In this study, primary cultured hippocampal neurons from neonatal rats were incubated in 95% N2 and 5% CO2 for 4 hours. Results indicated that hypoxic injury decreased the viability of neurons, increased the expression levels of caspase-9 and caspase-3 mRNA, as well as cytochrome c, Caspase-9, and Caspase-3 protein. Pretreatment with 0.25, 0.062 5, 0.015 6 mg/mL n-butanol extract of Potentilla anserine L. led to a significant increase in cell viability. Expression levels of caspase-9 and caspase-3 mRNA, as well as cytochrome c, Caspase-9, and Caspase-3 protein, were attenuated. The neuroprotective effect of n-butanol extract of Potentilla anserine L. was equivalent to tanshinone IIA. 4Optimization of rice wine fermentation process based on the simultaneous saccharification and fermentation kinetic model显示文摘Chinese rice wine making is a typical simultaneous saccharification and fermentation(SSF) process.During the fermentation process,temperature is one of the key parameters which decide the quality of Chinese rice wine.To optimize the SSF process for Chinese rice wine brewing,the effects of temperature on the kinetic parameters of yeast growth and ethanol production at various temperatures were determined in batch cultures using a mathematical model.The kinetic parameters as a function of temperature were evaluated using the software Origin8.0.Combing these functions with the mathematical model,an appropriate form of the model equations for the SSF considering the effects of temperature were developed.The kinetic parameters were found to fit the experimental data satisfactorily with the developed temperature-dependent model.The temperature profile for maximizing the ethanol production for rice wine fermentation was determined by genetic algorithm.The optimum temperature profile began at a low temperature of 26 °C up to 30 h.The operating temperature increased rapidly to 31.9 °C,and then decreased slowly to 18 °C at 65 h.Thereafter,the temperature was maintained at18 °C until the end of fermentation.A maximum ethanol production of 89.3 g·L^(-1)was attained.Conceivably,our model would facilitate the improvement of Chinese rice wine production at the industrial scale.Dengfeng Liu Hongtao Zhang Chi-Chung Lin Baoguo Xu 2016Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,10:10
5Postconflict behavior among female Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys Rhinopithecus roxellana within one-male units in the Qinling Mountains,China显示文摘For group-living primates, the information on postconflict management is crucial for understanding primate competitionand cooperation. However, such information is poorly known for snub-nosed monkeys, especially for wild populations. Inthis study, from September 2007 to June 2008, we investigated postconflict behavior among adult females Sichuan snub-nosedmonkeys Rhinopithecas roxellana within one-male units in a wild, provisioned group in the Qinling Mountains of China bymeans of the time-rule method and the PC-MC method. We obtained a total of 81 PC-MC pairs and each individual was involvedin only 0.004 aggressive behavior per observation hour. The first affiliative behavior was more likely to occur within the firstminute after a conflict. The postconflict affiliative behaviors most often seen were contact-sit, embrace and grooming. The affiliativecontacts between adult females occur due to selective attraction, i.e. reconciliation. 6Long-term bone and lung consequences associated with hospital-acquired severe acute respiratory syndrome:a 15-year follow-up from a prospective cohort study显示文摘The most severe sequelae after rehabilitation from SARS are femoral head necrosis and pulmonary fibrosis. We performed a 15-year follow-up on the lung and bone conditions of SARS patients. We evaluated the recovery from lung damage and femoral head necrosis in an observational cohort study of SARS patients using pulmonary CT scans, hip joint MRI examinations, pulmonary function tests and hip joint function questionnaires. Eighty medical staff contracted SARS in 2003. Two patients died of SARS, and78 were enrolled in this study from August 2003 to March 2018. Seventy-one patients completed the 15-year follow-up. The percentage of pulmonary lesions on CT scans diminished from 2003(9.40 ± 7.83)% to 2004(3.20 ± 4.78)%(P < 0.001) and remained stable thereafter until 2018(4.60 ± 6.37)%. Between 2006 and 2018, the proportion of patients with interstitial changes who had improved pulmonary function was lower than that of patients without lesions, as demonstrated by the one-second ratio(FEV1/FVC%, t = 2.21, P = 0.04) and mid-flow of maximum expiration(FEF25%–75%, t = 2.76, P = 0.01). The volume of femoral head necrosis decreased significantly from 2003(38.83 ± 21.01)% to 2005(30.38 ± 20.23)%(P = 0.000 2), then declined slowly from 2005 to 2013(28.99 ± 20.59)% and plateaued until 2018(25.52 ± 15.51)%. Pulmonary interstitial damage and functional decline caused by SARS mostly recovered, with a greater extent of recovery within 2 years after rehabilitation. 7A four-compartment model for the COVID-19 infection—implications on infection kinetics,control measures,and lockdown exit strategies显示文摘Objective:To analyse the impact and repercussions of the surge in healthcare demand in response to the COVID-19 pandemic,assess the potential effectiveness of various infection/disease control measures,and make projections on the best approach to exit from the current lockdown.Design:A four-compartment model was constructed for SARS-CoV-2 infection based on the Wuhan data and validated with data collected in Italy,the UK,and the US.The model captures the effectiveness of various disease suppression measures in three modifiable factors:(a)the per capita contact rate(β)that can be lowered by means of social distancing,(b)infection probability upon contacting infectious individuals that can be lowered by wearing facemasks,personal hygiene,etc.,and(c)the population of infectious individuals in contact with the susceptible population,which can be lowered by quarantine.The model was used to make projections on the best approach to exit from the current lockdown.Results:The model was applied to evaluate the epidemiological data and hospital burden in Italy,the UK,and the US.The control measures were identified as the key drivers for the observed epidemiological data through sensitivity analyses.Analysing the different lockdown exit strategies showed that a lockdown exit strategy with a combination of social separation/general facemask use may work,but this needs to be supported by intense monitoring whichwould allowre-introduction/tightening of the controlmeasures if the number of newinfected subjects increases again.Conclusions and relevance:Governments should act early in a swift and decisive manner for containment policies.Any lockdown exit will need to be monitored closely,with regards to the potential of lockdown reimplementation.This mathematical model provides a framework for major pandemics in the future.Tianbing Wang Yanqiu Wu Johnson Yiu-Nam Lau Yingqi Yu Liyu Liu Jing Li Kang Zhang Weiwei Tong Baoguo Jiang 2020Precision Clinical Medicine2020,3,2:5

9Effect of polypeptide 2B1 on condition of dampness pattern in rats in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine显示文摘OBJECTIVE: This study investigated how polypeptide 2B1 is involved in regulating and governing dampness in rat models with dampness pattern defined in terms ofTraditional Chinese Medicine.METHODS: We randomly divided 48 SPF10-week-old male Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats into a normal group, normal + Aristolochic acid I(AA-I) for5 min group, normal + AA-I for 60 min group,dampness pattern group(DS-Group), dampness pattern + AA-I for 5 min group, and dampness pattern + AA-I for 60 min group. Groups were then treated accordingly. 12Effects of rotor and stator geometry on dissolution process and power consumption in jet-flow high shear mixers显示文摘The jet-flow high shear mixer(JF-HSM)is a new type of intensified equipment with special configurations of the rotor and the stator.The mass transfer property and power consumption were studied in the solid-liquid system for a series of JF-HSMs involving different configuration parameters,such as rotor diameter,rotor blade inclination,rotor blade bending direction,stator diameter,and stator bottom opening diameter.The flow characteristics were examined by computational fluid dynamic simulations.Results indicate that the turbulent power consumption of the JF-HSM is affected by the change in rotor blade inclination and stator bottom opening.With the increase in the shear head size and the change in the rotor into a backward-curved blade,the solid-liquid mass transfer rate can be remarkably increased under the same input power.Dimensionless correlations for the mass transfer coefficient and power consumption were obtained to guide the scale-up design and selection of such a new type of equipment to intensify the overall mixing efficiency.Lin Yang Wenpeng Li Junheng Guo Wei Li Baoguo Wang Minqing Zhang Jinli Zhang 2021Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021,15,2:2
13In-flight performance analysis of the navigation augmentation payload on LEO communication satellite:a preliminary study on WT01 mission显示文摘With the development of the Low Earth Orbit(LEO)communication constellations,it has become a hot area of research to provide additional navigation augmentation services.Limited by volume,weight,power consumption,and running time,the in-flight performance of navigation augmentation payload remains to be investigated.In this paper,we analyze the data quality of on-board GNSS observation and evaluate the precision of short-arc dynamic Precise Orbit Determination(POD)performance based on the WangTong-01(WT01)mission.Furthermore,the downlink navigation measurement data of WT01 satellites are analyzed and compared with the GNSS observations.The results show that the average multipath errors of the WT01 on-board GPS L1,L2 and BeiDou Satellite Navigation System(BDS)B1,B2 code observation are 0.54,0.74,0.65,and 0.58 m,respectively.The short-arc dynamic POD three-dimensional(3D)overlapping accuracy is 7.1 cm.The average multipath errors of downlink navigation signal Z1 and Z2 are 0.81 and 0.80 m,respectively,which at the same order of magnitude as GNSS signals.The maximum Carrier-to-Noise Ratio(C/N0)value of WT01 downlink measurement data can reach 60 dB Hz,which is much stronger than GNSS and indicates the navigation signals of LEO satellites can meet the basic requirement of navigation augmentation.Ziqian Wu Baoguo Yu Chuanzhen Sheng Jingkui Zhang Song Xie Cailun Wu 2022Geo-Spatial Information Science2022,25,1:2
14Field test on temperature field and thermal stress for prestressed concrete box-girder bridge显示文摘A field test was conducted to investigate the distribution of temperature field and the variation of thermal stress for a prestressed concrete(PC)box-girder bridge.The change of hydration heat temperature consists of four periods:temperature rising period,constant temperature period,rapid temperature fall period and stow temperature fall period.The peak value of hydration heat temperature increases with the increasing casting temperature of concrete;the relation between them is approximately linear.According to field tests,the thermal stress incurred by hydration heat may induce temperature cracks on the PC box-girder.Furthermore,the nonlinear distribution of temperature gradient and the fluctuation of thermal stress induced by exposure to sunlight were also obtained based on continuous in-situ monitoring.Such results show that the prevailing Chinese Code(2004)is insufficient since it does not take into account the temperature gradient of the bottom slab.Finally,some preventive measures against temperature cracks were proposed based on related studies.The conclusions can provide valuable reference for the design and construction of PC box-girder bridges.Baoguo CHEN Rui DING Junjie ZHENG Shibiao ZHANG 2009Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2009,3,2:2

16Correlation between pathogenesis of dampness syndrome and Interleukin-2,Interleukin-8 in rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the pathogenesis of dampness syndrome by detecting the changes of interleukin-2 (IL-2) and interleukin-8 (IL-8) levels. METHODS: Female Sprague Dawley rats were divided randomly into five groups according to the random number table: a normal group (GroupⅠ), an external dampness group (GroupⅡ), an internal dampness group (Group Ⅲ), and an external and internal dampness group (GroupⅣ). Twenty days after the model made, IL-2 and IL-8 levels were detected by radioimmunoassay method. RESULTS: The IL-2 and IL-8 levels among groups were significant (F=3.102, P<0.05; F=2.657, P<0.05, respectively). The level of IL-2 in Group Ⅱ and Group Ⅲ were higher than that in GroupⅠ(P<0.05, P<0.01, respectively), especially higher in the Group Ⅲ compared with GroupⅡ (P<0.05). The lev- el of IL-8 in Group Ⅲ were higher than those inGroupⅠ, GroupⅡ and GroupⅣ (P<0.05, P<0.01, P< 0.05, respectively). In the GroupⅢ, the 24-hour wa ter and body weight were higher than that in the GroupⅣ (all P<0.05), and spontaneous movemen frequency was higher than those in GroupⅡ and GroupⅣ (P<0.05). 18Structure and Properties of CaO-MgO-SiO_2 Inorganic Glass Fiber with Additives (Al_2O_3,Y_2O_3)显示文摘Structure, crystallization and dissolution properties of CaO-MgO-SiO2 inorganic glass fiber in the presence of additives (Al2O3, Y2O3) were investigated by DTA, XRD, FTIR and ICP-AES techniques. The results show that with the addition of Al2O3 and Y2O3, the glass network structure is strengthened and the precipitation of crystals is inhibited for heat-treated fibers. Compared with Y2O3 doped fibers, Al2O3 presents more significant effects on the enhancement of silica network and the inhibition of crystallization in fibers.
