| 4 | Wind tunnel experiments on natural snow drift显示文摘Previous wind tunnel experiments on snow drift usually used artificial snow as a substitute of natural snow, which can not fully reflect the motion characteristics of snow drift in natural environments. In this paper we conducted a series of experiments in wind tunnel to investigate the motion of natural snow (fresh snow and old snow), which was collected out-door without destroying the surface structure. The results indicated that the threshold velocity of fresh snow is less than that of old snow, and that the mass flux rates of the two kinds of snow exponentially decrease with height whereas the snow transport rate increases exponentially with wind velocity. Based on the PIV measuring of the velocities of snow particles over two kinds of terrains (flat ground and roadbed), we found that the particle velocity obeys a Gaussian distribution for flat ground, top surface and leeward slope of the roadbed. However, for the windward slope of roadbed the particle velocity distribution displays poor correlation with a Gaussian function due to the acceleration of snow particles when saltating across the slop. | 5 | IL-10-producing regulatory B cells restrain the T follicular helper cell response in primary Sjögren’s syndrome显示文摘Increased numbers of T follicular helper(Tfh)cells have been implicated in the development of autoimmune diseases including primary Sjögren’s syndrome(pSS),but how the Tfh cell response is regulated during autoimmune pathogenesis remains largely unclear.Here,we first found negative correlations between IL-10^(+)regulatory B(Breg)cell numbers and Tfh cell responses and disease activity in patients with pSS and mice with experimental Sjögren’s syndrome(ESS).Moreover,we detected high expression of IL-10 receptor on Tfh cells and their precursors in both humans and mice.In culture,IL-10 suppressed human and murine Tfh cell differentiation by promoting STAT5 phosphorylation.By using an adoptive transfer approach and two-photon live imaging,we found significantly increased numbers of Tfh cells with enhanced T cell homing into B cell follicles in the draining cervical lymph nodes of RAG-2−/−mice transferred with IL-10-deficient B cells during ESS development compared with those of RAG-2−/−mice transferred with wild-type B cells.In ESS mice,CD19^(+)CD1d^(hi)CD5^(+)Breg cells with decreased IL-10 production exhibited severely impaired suppressive effects on T cell proliferation.Consistently,CD19^(+)CD24^(+)CD38^(hi) Breg cells from pSS patients showed significantly reduced IL-10 production with defective inhibitory function in the suppression of autologous Tfh cell expansion.Furthermore,the adoptive transfer of IL-10-producing Breg cells markedly suppressed the Tfh cell response and ameliorated ESS progression in ESS mice.Together,these findings demonstrate a critical role for IL-10-producing Breg cells in restraining the effector Tfh cell response during pSS development. | Xiang Lin Xiaohui Wang Fan Xiao Kongyang Ma Lixiong Liu Xiaoqi Wang Dong Xu Fei Wang Xiaofei Shi Dongzhou Liu Yan Zhao Liwei Lu | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,12: | 13 |

In the peripheral lymphoid system, mature B cells are activated by self or/and foreign antigens andsignals from helper T cells for differentiating into either memory B cells or antibody-producing plasma cells.Accumulating evidence has shown that epigenetic regulations modulate somatic hypermutation and class switchDNA recombination during B-cell activation and differentiation. Any abnormalities in these complex regulatoryprocesses may contribute to aberrant antibody production, resulting in autoimmune pathogenesis such as systemiclupus erythematosus. Newly generated knowledge from advanced modern technologies such as next-generationsequencing, single-cell sequencing and DNA methylation sequencing has enabled us to better understand B-cellbiology and its role in autoimmune development. | 11 | Time synchronization and carrier frequency control of CAPS navigation signals generated on the ground显示文摘The Chinese Area Positioning System (CAPS) works without atomic clocks on the satellite, and the CAPS navigation signals transmitted on the ground may achieve the same effect as that with high-performance atomic clocks on the satellite. The primary means of achieving that effect is through the time synchronization and carrier frequency control of the CAPS navigation signals generated on the ground. In this paper the synchronization requirements of different time signals are analyzed by the formation of navigation signals, and the theories and methods of the time synchronization of the CAPS navigation signals generated on the ground are also introduced. According to the conditions of the high-precision satellite velocitymeasurement signal source, the carrier frequency and its chains of the navigation signals are constructed. CAPS velocity measurement is realized by the expected deviation of real time control to the carrier frequency, and the precision degree of this method is also analyzed. The experimental results show that the time synchronization precision of CAPS generating signals is about 0.3 ns and the precision of the velocity measurement signal source is about 4 cm/s. | 13 | Combined prednisone and levothyroxine improve treatment of severe thrombocytopenia in hepatitis B with compensatory cirrhosis accompanied by subclinical and overt hypothyroidism显示文摘The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between hypothyroidism and thrombocytopenia in hepatitis Brelated compensatory liver cirrhosis and to determine whether treatment with levothyroxine and prednisone is superior in a multicenter, open-label, observational study in China. In total, 125 consecutive hepatitis B-related compensated liver cirrhosis patients with severe thrombocytopenia accompanied by hypothyroidism were included. The patients were divided into four groups according to treatment strategy: a control group(n=29), a prednisone group(n=25), a levothyroxine group(n=32) and a prednisone plus levothyroxine group(n=39). Severe thrombocytopenia was more prevalent in hepatitis B-associated compensatory liver cirrhosis patients with hypothyroidism than in euthyroid patients(29.6% vs. 14.7%, P<0.05). Combination treatment with prednisone and levothyroxine decreased the risk of bleeding and improved platelet recovery compared to control treatment and treatment with either prednisone or levothyroxine alone. The platelet count before therapy, serum thyroid stimulating hormone and combination treatment with prednisone and levothyroxine were associated with bleeding events. Therefore, the present study suggests that hypothyroidism is associated with severe thrombocytopenia in hepatitis B-associated compensatory liver cirrhosis. | 14 | New insights into hepatitis B virus biology and implications for novel antiviral strategies显示文摘Hepatitis B virus(HBV), a small DNA virus with a unique replication mode, can cause chronic hepatitis(CHB), which is characterized by the persistence of the viral covalently closed circular DNA that serves as the template for HBV replication and the production of large amounts of secreted HBV surface antigen(HBs Ag) that is present in excess of the levels of infectious virus. Despite the success of currently approved antiviral treatments for CHB patients, including interferon and nucleotide analogs, which suppress HBV replication and reduce the risk of CHB-related liver diseases, these therapies fail to eradicate the virus in most of the patients. With the development of the cell and animal models for HBV study, a beter understanding of the HBV life cycle has been achieved and a series of novel antiviral strategies that target diferent stages of HBV replication have been designed to overcome the viral factors that contribute to HBV persistence. | 15 | Proteasome inhibition suppresses Th17 cell generation and ameliorates autoimmune development in experimental Sjögren’s syndrome显示文摘Immunoproteasome activation in immune cells is involved in the modulation of immune responses.Increasing evidence indicates that proteasome inhibitors show beneficial effects in treating autoimmune diseases,but it remains unclear whether proteasome inhibition is an effective approach for suppressing autoimmune development in Sjögren’s syndrome(SS).Our previous work has demonstrated a critical role for Th17 cells in the development of experimental SS(ESS)in mice.In this study,we detected high levels of low-molecular-weight protein 7(LMP7),a key subunit of the immunoproteasome,in Th17 cells from ESS mice.Moreover,treatment with bortezomib(BTZ),a proteasome inhibitor,markedly suppressed Th17 differentiation in both murine and human naive T cells in culture.Furthermore,ESS mice treated with BTZ displayed significantly higher saliva flow rates and a reduction in tissue destruction in the salivary glands compared with vehicle-treated ESS mice.Notably,BTZ-treated ESS mice showed markedly decreased Th17 cells,germinal center B cells and plasma cells in the peripheral lymphoid organs.In addition,adoptively transferred wild type naive CD4+T cells rapidly differentiated into Th17 cells and induced salivary dysfunction in IL-17-deficient mice immunized for ESS induction.However,BTZ treatment profoundly suppressed the donor T-cell-derived Th17 response and ameliorated the reduction in salivary secretion in IL-17-deficient recipient mice.Taken together,our findings demonstrate that proteasome inhibition can effectively ameliorate ESS by suppressing the Th17 response,which may contribute to the development of a novel therapeutic strategy for the treatment of SS. | Fan Xiao Xiang Lin Jie Tian Xiaohui Wang Qian Chen Ke Rui Jie Ma Shengjun Wang Qingwen Wang Xiaoqi Wang Dongzhou Liu Lingyun Sun Liwei Lu | 2017 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,11: | 6 |
| 16 | Parallel selection of distinct Tof5 alleles drove the adaptation of cultivated and wild soybean to high latitudes显示文摘Photoperiod responsiveness is a key factor limiting the geographic distribution of cultivated soybean and its wild ancestor.In particular,the genetic basis of the adaptation in wild soybean remains poorly understood.In this study,by combining whole-genome resequencing and genome-wide association studies we identified a novel locus,Time of Flowering 5(Tof5),which promotes flowering and enhances adaptation to high latitudes in both wild and cultivated soybean.By genomic,genetic and transgenic analyses we showed that Tof5 en-codes a homolog of Arabidopsis thaliana FRUITFULL(FUL).Importantly,further analyses suggested that different alleles of Tof5 have undergone parallel selection.The Tof5H1 allele was strongly selected by humans after the early domestication of cultivated soybean,while Tof5H2 allele was naturally selected in wild soybean,and in each case facilitating adaptation to high latitudes.Moreover,we found that the key flowering repressor E1 suppresses the transcription of Tof5 by binding to its promoter.In turn,Tof5 physically associates with the promoters of two important FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT),FT2a and FT5a,to upregulate their transcription and promote flowering under long photoperiods.Collectively,ourfindings provide insights into how wild soybean adapted to high latitudes through natural selection and indicate that cultivated soybean underwent changes in the same gene but evolved a distinct allele that was artificially selected after domestication. | Lidong Dong Qun Cheng Chao Fang Lingping Kong Hui Yang Zhihong Hou Yongli Li Haiyang Nan Yuhang Zhang Qingshan Chen Chunbao Zhang Kun Kou Tong Su Lingshuang Wang Shichen Li Haiyang Li Xiaoya Lin Yang Tang Xiaohui Zhao Sijia Lu Baohui Liu Fanjiang Kong | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,2: | 5 |
| 17 | Value Estimation of Greenhouse Gases Exchange in Wetland Ecosystem of Sanjiang Plain,China显示文摘The objective of this study is to quantify the values of greenhouse gases(GHGs) exchange in carbon equivalents of marshes and paddy fields in the Sanjiang Plain,Heilongjiang Province,China. We obtained the GHGs exchange values based on comparable price by calculating the carbon sequestration values and the GHGs emission values of marshes and paddy fields respectively in four periods of 1982,1995,2000 and 2005. It is noted that the GHGs emission values are always negative. In this study,the marshes areas decreased from 1438977.0 to 775,132.2ha and the paddy fields areas increased from 417195.8 to 934205.0ha. The values of GHGs exchange of marshes varied from 135877.156×106 to 136882.534×106 yuan(RMB) and those of paddy fields varied from 1006.256×106 to 2767.645×106 yuan. The GHGs exchange values of marshes decreased from 1982 to 2005 on the whole,reversely,those of paddy fields increased,but those in 2005 were lower than those in 2000. In different periods,the GHGs exchange values were always higher in marshes than in paddy fields. The contribution rate of GHGs exchange values per unit area of marshes was also very high in different periods,and the maximum was up to 98.35% in 2005. As far as the whole wetland ecosystem(including marshes and paddy fields) ,assuming a linear change in GHGs exchange values,it represented a cumulative increase of 20926.757×106 yuan from 1982 to 2005. By adding GHGs exchange values increased during those four periods,we obtained a cumulative net increase values of GHGs exchange of wetland ecosystem of 18200.860×106 yuan. | 19 | Preparation of PDVB/TiO2 composites and the study on the oil-water separation and degradation performances显示文摘The traditional superhydrophobic materials are not ideal for treating residual pollutants after oil-water separation. In this paper, a simple and economical method was developed for the fabrication of multi-functional superhydrophobic materials PDVBx/TiO2 composites, through in situ polymerization. The performance of the superhydrophobic composite was studied. The results showed that the low surface energy of PDVB2.5/TiO2 composite with the micro-nano scale roughness would result in excellent superhydrophobicity. In addition, the PDVB2.5/TiO2 composite exhibits optimum effect on the degradation of methyl orange(MO) with the degradation efficiency of 97.8%. What is more, the applications of the composite materials could be expanded to other fields, such as the degradation of drug ciprofloxacin hydrochloride(CIP). | 20 | Numerical analysis of mode locking in multi-core photonic crystal fiber显示文摘With linearly coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations,numerical analysis has been performed on the mode locking forming procedure of a fiber laser in the linear cavity configuration.The fiber is Yb-doped multi-core photonic crystal fiber and semiconductor saturable absorber mirror(SESAM) is adopted as the nonlinear transmission element to start mode locking.Because of the noise randomness,initial pulse would be picked out by SESAM in one or more cores which makes the multi-core mode locking quite different from single-core one.The two situations are compared and fully discussed.Mode locking in multi-core photonic crystal fiber laser can be realized only if the couple coefficient between the cores and the temporal overlap between the pulses in different cores are large enough. | FANG XiaoHui HU MingLie LI YanFeng CHAI Lu WANG QingYue | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,18: | 4 |
