| 1 | Review of the impact of heat stress on reproductive performance of sheep显示文摘Heat stress significantly impairs reproduction of sheep,and under current climatic conditions is a significant risk to the efficiency of the meat and wool production,with the impact increasing as global temperatures rise.Evidence from field studies and studies conducted using environmental chambers demonstrate the effects of hot temperatures(≥32℃)on components of ewe fertility(oestrus,fertilisation,embryo survival and lambing)are most destructive when experienced from 5 d before until 5 d after oestrus.Temperature controlled studies also demonstrate that ram fertility,as measured by rates of fertilisation and embryo survival,is reduced when mating occurs during the period 14 to 50 d post-heating.However,the contribution of the ram to heat induced reductions in flock fertility is difficult to determine accurately.Based primarily on temperature controlled studies,it is clear that sustained exposure to high temperatures(≥32℃)during pregnancy reduces lamb birthweight and will,therefore,decrease lamb survival under field conditions.It is concluded that both ewe and ram reproduction is affected by relatively modest levels of heat stress(≥32℃)and this is a concern given that a significant proportion of the global sheep population experiences heat stress of this magnitude around mating and during pregnancy.Despite this,strategies to limit the impacts of the climate on the homeothermy,behaviour,resource use and reproduction of extensively grazed sheep are limited,and there is an urgency to improve knowledge and to develop husbandry practices to limit these impacts. | William H.E.J.van Wettere Karen L.Kind Kathryn L.Gatford Alyce M.Swinbourne Stephan T.Leu Peter T.Hayman Jennifer M.Kelly Alice C.Weaver David O.Kleemann Simon K.Walker | 2021 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021，12，3： | 6 |

| 3 | Gene expression profile of peripheral blood in colorectal cancer显示文摘AIM:Optimal molecular markers for detecting colorectal cancer(CRC)in a blood-based assay were evaluated.METHODS:A matched(by variables of age and sex)case-control design(111 CRC and 227 non-cancer samples)was applied.Total RNAs isolated from the338 blood samples were reverse-transcribed,and the relative transcript levels of candidate genes were analyzed.The training set was made of 162 random samples of the total 338 samples.A logistic regression analysis was performed,and odds ratios for each gene were determined between CRC and non-cancer.The samples(n=176)in the testing set were used to validate the logistic model,and an inferred performance(generality)was verified.By pooling 12 public microarray datasets(GSE 4107,4183,8671,9348,10961,13067,13294,13471,14333,15960,17538,and 18105),which included 519 cases of adenocarcinoma and 88 controls of normal mucosa,we were able to verify the selected genes from logistic models and estimate their external generality.RESULTS:The logistic regression analysis resulted in the selection of five significant genes(P<0.05;MDM2,DUSP6,CPEB4,MMD,and EIF2S3),with odds ratios of 2.978,6.029,3.776,0.538 and 0.138,respectively.The five-gene model performed stably for the discrimination of CRC cases from controls in the training set,with accuracies ranging from 73.9%to 87.0%,a sensitivity of 95%and a specificity of 95%.In addition,a good performance in the test set was obtained using the discrimination model,providing 83.5%ac-curacy,66.0%sensitivity,92.0%specificity,a positive predictive value of 89.2%and a negative predictive value of 73.0%.Multivariate logistic regressions analyzed 12 pooled public microarray data sets as an external validation.Models that provided similar expected and observed event rates in subgroups were termed well calibrated.A model in which MDM2,DUSP6,CPEB4,MMD,and EIF2S3 were selected showed the result in logistic regression analysis(H-L P=0.460,R2=0.853,AUC=0.978,accuracy=0.949,specificity=0.818 and sensitivity=0.971).CONCLUSION:A novel gene expression profile was associated with CRC and can potentially be applied to blood-based detection assays. | Yu-Tien Chang Chi-Shuan Huang Chung-Tay Yao Sui-Lung Su Harn-Jing Terng Hsiu-Ling Chou Yu-Ching Chou Kang-Hua Chen Yun-Wen Shih Chian-Yu Lu Ching-Huang Lai Chen-En Jian Chiao-Huang Lin Chien-Ting Chen Yi-Syuan Wu Ke-Shin Lin Thomas Wetter Chi-Wen Chang Chi-Ming Chu | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，39： | 4 |
| 4 | 日粮中添加甲基供体对妊娠母猪妊娠状况和产仔数的影响显示文摘B族维生素和甲基供体物质的摄入量可以影响母猪的繁殖性能。本试验选取1079头长×大二元母猪(胎龄为2~9),采用2×2×2析因法试验设计,研究母猪妊娠期日粮中甜菜碱和B族维生素(叶酸和维生素B12)的添加剂量对不同胎龄(2~3胎龄和4胎龄及以上)母猪的产仔数和妊娠状况的影响,甜菜碱和B族维生素的两个添加水平分别为0、3 g/kg和0、20 mg/kg叶酸+150μg/kg B12。试验过程中,记录母猪返情率和早期流产率(〈30 d)、后期流产率(〉30 d),同时记录母猪总产仔数、产活仔数、产死仔数、产木乃伊数。在妊娠第3、30、107天,从每个处理组中选取20头母猪,进行空腹采血,分析血浆中同型半胱氨酸的含量。试验结果表明,B族维生素添加组的母猪早期流产率为3%,低于未添加B族维生素组(7%),差异显著(P〈0.001)。母猪胎龄与添加甜菜碱、B族维生素对窝产仔数有明显的交互作用。甜菜碱添加组母猪窝产仔数较无甜菜碱添加组、4胎龄母猪组均增加0.5头(P〈0.05)。B族维生素添加组中2胎龄和3胎龄母猪产仔猪数均明显高于其他试验处理组(P〈0.05)。添加B族维生素,母猪血浆中同型半胱氨酸含量在妊娠第3天和第107天分别降低2.2μm和2.8μm(P〈0.001),而添加甜菜碱组母猪血浆中同型半胱氨酸仅在妊娠第3天显著降低(P〈0.05)。总之,妊娠日粮中添加B族维生素能够降低母猪早期妊娠失败率和增加低胎龄母猪的窝产仔数,而添加甜菜碱则可以增加高胎龄母猪的窝产仔数。 | W.H.E.J.van Wettere R.J.Smits P.E.Hughes | 2015 | 中国饲料2015，，20： | 4 |
