| 1 | Status of the neonatal follow‑up system in China:survey and analysis显示文摘Background There is little information about neonatal follow-up programs(NFUPs)in China. This study aimed to conduct a survey of hospitals participating in the Chinese Neonatal Network(CHNN)to determine the status of NFUPs,including resources available, criteria for enrollment, neurodevelopmental assessments, and duration of follow-up.Methods We conducted a descriptive study using an online survey of all 72 hospitals participating in CHNN in 2020.The survey included 15 questions that were developed based on the current literature and investigators’knowledge about followup practices in China. Results Sixty-four(89%)of the 72 hospitals responded to the survey, with an even distribution of children’s(31%),maternity(33%)and general(36%)hospitals.All but one(98%)hospital had NFUPs,with 44(70%)being established after 2010.Eligibility criteria for follow-up were variable, but common criteria included very preterm infants<32 weeks or<2000 g birth weight(100%),small for gestational age(97%),hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(98%)and postsurgery(90%).The average follow-up rate was 70%(range:7.5%–100%).Only 12%of hospitals followed up with patients for more than 24 months. There was significant variation in neurodevelopmental assessments,follow-up schedule, composition of staff, and clinic facilities and resources.None of the staff had received formal training, and only four hospitals had sent staff to foreign hospitals as observers. Conclusions There is significant variation in eligibility criteria, duration of follow-up,types of assessments, staffing, training and facilities available.Coordination and standardization are urgently needed. | Qi Zhou Yun Cao Lan Zhang Nurya Erejep Wen‑Long Xiu Jing‑Yun Shi Rui Cheng Wen‑Hao Zhou Shoo KLee | 2023 | World Journal of Pediatrics2023,19,11: | 2 |
| 2 | Pediatric patients in the new wave of SARS‑CoV‑2 infection in Shanghai,China显示文摘Since March 28,2022,Shanghai has become the new COVID-19 epicenter in China, with more than 500,000 COVID-19 cases until May 5th,2022,of which more than 90%are asymptomatic.More than 12,000 children in Shanghai were infected with COVID-19 during the current Omicron wave, which was characterized by family clustering.Because an increasing number of symptomatic children are required to be hospitalized, four major pediatric medical centers in Shanghai and other general hospitals were designated for admitting symptomatic pediatric COVID-19 cases in the early April. There were approximately 3,500 pediatric cases admitted from April 1st until May 5th,2022. | Jian‑Guo Zhou Yan‑Ming Lu Li‑Bo Wang Hui Yu Ting Zhang Yi‑Wei Chen Wen‑Hao Zhou | 2022 | World Journal of Pediatrics2022,18,9: | 0 |
| 3 | Altered gut microbiota composition in children and their caregivers infected with the SARS‑CoV‑2 Omicron variant显示文摘Background Gut microbiota alterations have been implicated in the pathogenesis of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).This study aimed to explore gut microbiota changes in a prospective cohort of COVID-19 children and their asymptomatic caregivers infected with the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus type 2(SARS-CoV-2)Omicron variant. Methods A total of 186 participants, including 59 COVID-19 children,50 asymptomatic adult caregivers,52 healthy children(HC),and 25 healthy adults(HA),were recruited between 15 April and 31 May 2022.The gut microbiota composition was determined by 16S rRNA gene sequencing in fecal samples collected from the participants.Gut microbiota functional profling was performed by using Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States(PICRUSt)software. Results The gut microbiota analysis of beta diversity revealed that the fecal microbial community of COVID-19 children remained far distantly related to HC.The relative abundances of the phyla Actinobacteria and Firmicutes were decreased, whereas Bacteroidetes,Proteobacteria, and Verrucomicrobiota were increased in COVID-19 children.Feces from COVID-19 children exhibited notably lower abundances of the genera Blautia,Bifdobacterium,Fusicatenibacter,Streptococcus, and Romboutsia and higher abundances of the genera Prevotella,Lachnoclostridium,Escherichia-Shigella,and Bacteroides than those from HC.The enterotype distributions of COVID-19 children were characterized by a high prevalence of enterotype Bacteroides.Similar changes in gut microbiota compositions were observed in asymptomatic caregivers.Furthermore, the microbial metabolic activities of KEGG(Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes)and COG(cluster of orthologous groups of proteins)pathways were perturbed in feces from subjects infected with the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant. Conclusion Our data reveal altered gut microbiota compositions in both COVID-19 children and their asymptomatic caregivers infected with the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant, which further implicates the critical role of gut microbiota in COVID-19 pathogenesis. | Yi‑Zhong Wang Jian‑Guo Zhou Yan‑Ming Lu Hui Hu Fang‑Fei Xiao Ting Ge Xing Wang Lu Zheng Lian‑Hu Yu Jun Le Hui Yu Guang‑Jun Yu Qiang Xia Ting Zhang Wen‑Hao Zhou | 2023 | World Journal of Pediatrics2023,19,5: | 0 |
| 4 | Measurement of Br(n,γ)cross sections up to stellar s-process temperatures at the CSNS Back‑n显示文摘The neutron capture cross sections(n,γ)of bromine were obtained using the time-of-flight technique at the Back-n facility of the China Spallation Neutron Source.Promptγ-rays originating from neutron-induced capture events were detected using four C_(6)D_(6) detectors. The pulse-height weighting technique and double-bunch unfolding method based on Bayesian theory were used in the data analysis. Background deductions, normalization, and corrections were carefully considered to obtain reliable measurement results. The multilevel R-matrix Bayesian code SAMMY was used to extract the resonance parameters in the resolved resonance region(RRR).The average cross sections in the unresolved resonance region(URR)were obtained from 10 to 400 keV.The experimental results were compared with data from several evaluated libraries and previous experi-ments in the RRR and URR.The TALYS code was used to describe the average cross sections in the URR.The astrophysical Maxwell average cross sections(MACSs)of ^(79,81)Br from kT=5 to 100 keV were calculated over a sufficiently wide range of neutron energies. At a thermal energy of kT=30 keV,the MACS value for ^(79)Br 682±68 mb was in good agreement with the KADoNiS v1.0 recommended value.By contrast, the value of 293±29 mb for ^(81)Br was substantially higher than that of the evaluated database and the KADoNiS v1.0 recommended value. | Gao‑Le Yang Zhen‑Dong An Wei Jiang Xian‑Kai Li Wei‑Wei Qiu Zheng‑Fa Liao Zi‑Yue Zhuang Xiao‑Ping Zhang Sheng‑Li Chen Chen‑Chen Guo Er‑Xi Xiao Xiao Fang Xin‑Xiang Li Xin‑Rong Hu Bing Jiang Jin‑Cheng Wang Jie Ren Wen Luo Zhi‑Chao Zhu Hao‑Yang Lan Zong‑Wei Cao Xu Ma Ying‑Du Liu Pu‑Sen Wang Yi Yang Ping Su Xian‑Gai Deng Wan‑Bing He Chun‑Wang Ma Yu‑Ting Wang Zhi‑Tao Dai Peng‑Qin He Ren‑Guang Tang Tao Zhou Jing Wang Han Yi Yue Zhang Yong‑Hao Chen Rui‑Rui Fan Ke‑Qing Gao Qiang Li Kang Sun Zhi‑Xin Tan Min‑Hao Gu Han‑Tao Jing Jing‑Yu Tang | 2023 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2023,34,11: | 0 |
