3Shifts of the Kuroshio axis over the last 20 000 years显示文摘Core 255 from the southern Okinawa Trough was selected to monitor the shift of the Kuroshio axis over the last 20 000 years. During the last glacial maximum the Kuroshio axis had ever shifted outside the Okinawa Trough. It entered the Okinawa Trough again at about 6 500 a BP, leading to abrupt increase of sedimentation rate, distinctly coarser sediment and remarkably increased abundance of foraminiferal indicators of the Kuroshio in the core. But, during about 4 000-3 000 a BP the abundance of the Kuroshio indicator Pulleniatina obliquiloculata sharply decreased again, indicating that the Kuroshio axis had ever shifted easterly for a short period or the Kuroshio was weakened and that moment.Jian Zhimin Y. 4Status of hyperhomocysteinemia in China: results from the China Stroke High-risk Population Screening Program, 2018显示文摘A nationwide survey was conducted from October 2018 to September 2019 to assess the prevalence of hyperhomocysteinemia(Hhcy)and its influencing factors in China.A standardized questionnaire was used to collect information.Hhcy was defined as the level of serum homocysteine(HCY)≥15.0µmol/L.The H-type hypertension(HHYP)was defined as hypertension with an elevated serum HCY(≥15.0µmol/L).Finally,110551 residents≥40 years of age from 31 provinces in the mainland of China were included.Overall,the median serum HCY level was 10.9µmol/L(interquartile range 7.9–15.1).A total of 28633 participants(25.9%)were defined as Hhcy.The Hhcy prevalence ranged from 7.9%in Shanghai to 56.8%in Tianjin.The data showed that serum HCY levels were associated with age,male gender,cigarette smoking,hypertension,diabetes,ethnicity,endurance in exercise(inverse),and fruit and vegetable intake(inverse).In addition,15486 participants were defined as HHYP,and the rate was 14.0%.HHYP was an independent predictor of stroke with an adjusted odds ratio of 1.752(95%CI 1.338–2.105).The geographical distribution pattern of the Hhcy epidemic reflects dynamic differences,and national strategies should be carried out to further improve the care of patients with Hhcy across China.Wenjun Tu Feng Yan Baohua Chao Xunming Ji Longde Wang 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,6:12

8Diffraction-limited imaging with monolayer 2D material-based ultrathin flat lenses显示文摘Ultrathin flat optics allow control of light at the subwavelength scale that is unmatched by traditional refractive optics.To approach the atomically thin limit,the use of 2D materials is an attractive possibility due to their high refractive indices.However,achievement of diffraction-limited focusing and imaging is challenged by their thickness-limited spatial resolution and focusing efficiency.Here we report a universal method to transform 2D monolayers into ultrathin flat lenses.Femtosecond laser direct writing was applied to generate local scattering media inside a monolayer,which overcomes the longstanding challenge of obtaining sufficient phase or amplitude modulation in atomically thin 2D materials.We achieved highly efficient 3D focusing with subwavelength resolution and diffractionlimited imaging.The high focusing performance even allows diffraction-limited imaging at different focal positions with varying magnifications.Our work paves the way for downscaling of optical devices using 2D materials and reports an unprecedented approach for fabricating ultrathin imaging devices.Han Lin Zai-Quan Xu Guiyuan Cao Yupeng Zhang Jiadong Zhou Ziyu Wang Zhichen Wan Zheng Liu Kian Ping Loh Cheng-Wei Qiu Qiaoliang Bao Baohua Jia 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:9
9Variations of opal accumulation rates and paleoproductivity over the past 12 Ma at ODP Site 1143, southern South China Sea显示文摘The biogenic silica analysis was performed on 463 samples from ODP 184 Site 1143, the southern South China Sea. The results show that the opal content and MAR evidently increased between 12.3 and 5.7 Ma, which was contemporary with the high carbonate and total MARs, reflecting the high biogenic productivity in the late Miocene. This demonstrates the occurrence of the late Miocene 'Biogenic Bloom Event' in the southern South China Sea, corresponding to the late Miocene-early Pliocene 'Biogenic Bloom Event' in the Indian-Pacific Ocean. 11High-temperature treatment induced carbon anode with ultrahigh Na storage capacity at low-voltage plateau显示文摘Sodium-ion batteries(NIBs) show great prospect on the energy storage applications benefiting from their low cost and the abundant Na resources despite the expected lower energy density compared with lithium-ion batteries(LIBs). To further enhance the competitive advantage, especially in energy density,developing the high-capacity carbon anode materials can be one of the effective approaches to realize this goal. Herein, we report a novel carbon anode made from charcoal with a high capacity of ~400 m Ah g^(-1), wherein about 85%(>330 mAh g^(-1)) of its total capacity is derived from the long plateau region below ~0.1 V, which differs from those of typical hard carbon materials(~300 m Ah g^(-1)) in NIBs but is similar to the graphite anode in LIBs. When coupled with air-stable Na_(0.9)Cu_(0.22)e_(0.30)Mn_(0.48)O_2 oxide cathode, a high-energy density of ~240 Wh kg^(-1) is achieved with good rate capability and cycling stability. 12Hydrocarbon Geological Conditions and Exploration Potential of Mesozoic–Paleozoic Marine Strata in the South Yellow Sea Basin显示文摘No substantial breakthroughs have been made in hydrocarbon exploration of the South Yellow Sea Basin.It is believed that the Mesozoic-Paleozoic marine sedimentary formation in the South Yellow Sea Basin is similar to that in the Sichuan Basin.Therefore,outcrop,drilling,and seismic data were determined and compared with the research results on petroleum geological conditions in the Yangtze land area,and the hydrocarbon geological conditions were analyzed comprehensively from multiple aspects,such as basin evolution and main source rocks,reservoir characteristics,preservation conditions,and structural traps.The results show that two main stages in the South Yellow Sea Basin(the stable evolution stage of the Mesozoic-Paleozoic marine basin and the Mesozoic-Cenozoic tectonic reformation and basin formation stage)were important for the development and evolution of four sets of main source rocks.Reservoirs dominated by carbonate rocks,three sets of capping beds with good sealing capability,relatively weak magmatic activity,and multiple types of structural traps jointly constituted relatively good hydrocarbon-reservoir-forming conditions.There were four sets of main source-reservoir-cap assemblages and three possible hydrocarbon reservoir types(primary residual-type hydrocarbon reservoir,shallow reformed-type hydrocarbon reservoir,and composite-type hydrocarbon reservoir)developed in the marine strata.It is concluded that the marine strata in the South Yellow Sea Basin have relatively good hydrocarbon potential.The Laoshan Uplift is characterized by stable structure,complete preserved source reservoir cap assemblage,and large structural traps,and thus it is the preferred prospect zone for marine Paleozoic hydrocarbon exploration in this area.YUAN Yong CHEN Jianwen LIANG Jie XU Ming LEI Baohua ZHANG Yuxi CHENG Qingsong WANG Jianqiang 2019Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,6:7
13Genetics and Molecular Marker Identification of a Resistance to Glomerella Leaf Spot in Apple显示文摘Apple Glomerella leaf spot(GLS) is a destructive fungal disease that damages apple leaves during the summer in China.Breeding new diseaseresistant varieties is considered to be the best way of controlling GLS.A genetic study of resistance to Glomerella leaf spot(GLS) in apple was conducted by using four F_1 hybrid groups(‘Fuji' בGolden Delicious',‘Golden Delicious' בFuji',‘Gala' בFuji',and ‘Fuji' בQF-2') generated from two highly resistant varieties or selections,‘Fuji' and ‘QF-2',and two highly susceptible varieties,‘Golden Delicious' and ‘Gala'.The results showed that the separation ratios of resistant plants to the susceptible ones in the four F_1 hybrid groups were statistically consistent with the theoretical ratios of 1:1,1:1,0:1,and 1:0.Comprehensive analysis enabled us to generate the following conclusions:GLS resistance in apple may be controlled by a single recessive gene.The genotype of the resistant plants was rr,whereas the genotypes of the susceptible ones were RR and Rr.By using ‘Golden Delicious' בFuji' F_1 hybrid groups and the bulked segregation analysis(BSA) method,the marker S0506206-243 bp associated with disease resistance character to GLS was identified through screening 500 SSR primers encompassing the entire apple genome with even coverage,and the genetic distance between the marker and the GLS resistance gene was 9.8 cM.LIU Yuanxia LI Baohua WANG Caihong LIU Chunxiao KONG Xianghua ZHU Jun DAI Hongyi 2016Horticultural Plant Journal2016,2,3:6

17High-performance optical chirp chain BOTDA by using a pattern recognition algorithm and the differential pulse-width pair technique显示文摘Optical chirp chain Brillouin optical time-domain analysis(OCC-BOTDA) has the capabilities of fast measurement, high Brillouin threshold, and freedom from the nonlocal effect;at the same time, however, it also has problems introduced by transient stimulated Brillouin scattering. The influence of the transient interaction is reflected as the broadened asymmetric Brillouin spectrum, the ghost peak, and the frequency shift of the main peak. This introduces difficulty in computing the fiber Brillouin frequency shift with good measurement accuracy. Besides, the OCC modulation causes additional noise due to the uneven amplitude response for different frequency components. In this work, we propose a high-performance OCC-BOTDA using the principal component analysis(PCA) based pattern recognition algorithm and differential pulse-width pair(DPP) technique.After building the Brillouin spectrum database(i.e., all patterns), the fiber intrinsic Brillouin frequency shift can be recognized by the PCA algorithm from a nonstandard Brillouin spectrum profile, resulting in good measurement accuracy. Meanwhile, the DPP technique, subtracting between two Brillouin signals generated by two wide-width pump pulses, is utilized to reduce the OCC modulation noise and avoid the pulse self-phase modulation effect in long-range BOTDA sensing. 19Sea surface temperature evolution in the western South China Sea since MIS 12 as evidenced by planktonic foraminiferal assemblages and Globigerinoides ruber Mg/Ca ratio显示文摘Based on the detailed planktonic foraminifera faunal count and Globigerinoides ruber Mg/Ca ratio analysis of Core MD05-2901,we reconstructed the longest Mg/Ca sea surface temperature(SST) sequence of the upwelling area off Vietnam in the western South China Sea(SCS).Ocean environment,especially the SST variation,over the last 450 ka is discussed in this study.SST variation has typical glacial/interglacial alternations from 23.03°C to 29.93°C with a glacial/interglacial difference of 4.8°C on average.SST during the interglacial periods fluctuates significantly,up to 5.6°C,which is larger than the average glacial/interglacial difference.SST variation during the glacial periods is much smaller.Spectrum analysis shows that SST change dominates on the typical Milankovitch cycles,such as 112,40.7 and 23.6 ka.Evident leading of SST variation against the δ 18 O can be observed during the Terminations 1,4,and 5,which is confirmed by their cross-spectrum analysis on these cycles.MD05-2901 is the first core in the South China Sea that has multi-SST records,such as SST Mg/Ca,k' 37 U-SST and planktonic foraminiferal fauna-based SST.SSTs from different methods can be correlated with each other in glacial/interglacial time scale,whereas SST Mg/Ca records abrupt climate change events more clearly.SST Mg/Ca at MD05-2901 since MIS 5 is 0.6°C lower than that of the southern SCS on average,but equivalent to or even 2°C lower than that of the northern SCS during some interglacial period.The SST character of MD05-2901 reflects less influence of latitude,but an important role of the regional upwelling driven by the eastern Asian summer monsoon,and suggests a stronger upwelling during the interglacial periods in the western SCS.WANG XiaoYan LI BaoHua 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,11:4
20Advances in Understanding Materials for Rechargeable Lithium Batteries by Atomic Force Microscopy显示文摘The development of advanced lithium batteries represents a major technological challenge for the new century.Understanding the fundamental electrode degradation mechanisms is important for battery performance improvements.The complex electrochemical processes inside a working battery are being explored to a limited extent.Various advanced material characterization techniques have been used to monitor dynamic conditions for optimizing battery materials.State-of-the-art atomic force microscopy methods have been applied to energy storage systems,specifically lithium-ion batteries.Atomic force microscopy is an ideal tool to provide localized morphological,chemical,and physical information at nanoscale for the in-depth understanding of the electrochemical processes,reaction mechanisms,and degradation of battery materials.Here,we review recent progress in the development and application of atomic force microscopy for high-performance lithium-ion batteries.We discuss atomic force microscopy as an analytical tool to help researchers understand graphite,silicon,layered metal oxides,and other representative electrode materials.We summarize the importance of atomic force microscopy technique in studying the next-generation Li–S and Li–O 2 batteries.We also highlight some of the remaining challenges and possible solutions for future development.Shuwei Wang Qi Liu Chenglong Zhao Fengzheng Lv Xianying Qin Hongda Du Feiyu Kang Baohua Li 2018Energy & Environmental Materials2018,1,1:4
