1Solvent de binding of water soluble binder in powder injection moulding显示文摘The solvent debinding of water soluble binder in powder injection moulding (MIM) was investigated systematically, including the effects of solvent types, temperature and the thickness of green parts on the solvent debinding rate. After studying the debinding of a green part with a thickness of 4.26 mm, it was found that, the debinding rate of polyethylene glycol(PEG) in water and alcohol was high initially, and then decreased; however, it would increase with temperature increasing. At room temperature, the dissolution rate of PEG in water was higher than that in alcohol, but the latter would be much faster with temperature increasing because the debinding activation energy in alcohol was 51.44 kJ·mol -1 ·K -1 , much higher than 24.23 kJ·mol -1 ·K -1 in water. 3Preparation of Li-B Alloy and Study of Its Microstructure and Discharge Characteristics显示文摘A Li-B alloy has been prepared using a pretreated amorphous B powder and pure Li ingot as starting materials by continually slow addition of B powder and intensified stirring in the process of melting. The microstructure and the discharge characteristic of the materials have been investigated. Results show that the problem of temperature control in synthesis would be modified by means of continual addition of B powder, the Li7B6 would be more finely distributed in the metal Li by means of intensified Stirring. 4Fabrication of commercial pure Ti by selective laser melting using hydride-dehydride titanium powders treated by ball milling显示文摘Micro-fine sphericalpowders are recommended for selective laser melting(SLM). However, they are mostly expensive due to the complex manufacturing technique and low yield. In this paper, using lowcost treated hydride-dehydride(HDH) Ti powders, commercial pure Ti(CP-Ti) was successfully fabricated by SLM. After 4-h milling, the resulting powders become near-spherical with no obvious angularity, and have optimal flowability with the apparent density of 1.64 ± 0.02 g/cm^3, tap density of 2.10 ± 0.04 g/cm^3,angle of repose 40.11?±0.09?, and Carr's index of 77.74 ± 0.15. The microstructure was determined with full acicular martensitic β phase. The CP-Ti can achieve superior mechanical properties with the ultimate tensile strength of 876.1 ± 20.5 MPa and elongation of(14.7 ± 0.5)%, which exhibit distinctly competitive compared to the as-cast CP-Ti or Ti-6 Al-4 V. 5Powder injection molding of pure titanium显示文摘An improved wax-based binder was developed for powder injection molding of pure titanium. A critical powder loading of 69 vol.% and a pseudo-plastic flow behavior were obtained by the feedstock based on the binder. The injection molding, debinding, and sintering process were studied. An ideal control of carbon and oxygen contents was achieved by thermal debinding in vacuum atmosphere (10-3 Pa). The mechanical properties of as-sintered specimens were less than those of titanium made by the conventional press-sintering process. 7Net-shape forming of composite packages with high thermal conductivity显示文摘The continuing miniaturization of electronic devices in microelectronics and semiconductors drives the development of new packaging materials with enhanced thermal conductivity to dissipate the heat generated in electronic packages. In recent years, several promising composite materials with high thermal conductivity have been developed successfully for high performance electronic equipment to replace the traditional Kovar and Cu/W or Cu/Mo alloys, such as SiCp/Al, SICp/Cu, diamond/Al and diamond/Cu. However, these materials with high content of reinforcements have not been widely used in packaging field because they are hard to be machined into complex-shaped parts due to their greater hardness and brittleness. So, it is necessary to explore a near-net shape forming technology for these composites. 8Fabrication of micro-fine high Nb-containing TiAl alloyed powders by fluidized bed jet milling显示文摘A fluidized bed jet milling process was used to make micro-fine high Nb-containing TiAl alloyed powders from the chippings obtained by crushing the Ti-45Al-8.5Nb-(W,B,Y) ingot.The influences of classifier frequency on powder characteristics were investigated.The results show that the powders with controlled average particle size can be prepared on a large scale.The powders with different sizes are all dominated by γ with aminor amount of α2-Ti3Al.The particle size significantly decreases with the classifier frequency increasing.At a classifier frequency higher than 38 Hz,the average particle size of the ground powders is lower than 25μm.The powders are composed of two differ-ent sizes of particles:shaped particles and some clastic particles,and both particle sizes meet the log-normal distribution.With the classifier frequency increasing,the both sizes decrease;meanwhile,the proportion of the clastic particles gradually increases,and the size distribution span value of the ground powders increases correspondingly.Lu, Xin Zhu, Langping Liu, Chengcheng Zhang, Lin Wu, Mao Qu, Xuanhui 2012Rare Metals2012,31,1:8

10Mechanical properties and expansion coefficient of Mo-Cu composites with different Ni contents显示文摘Mo-Cu composites were fabricated by powder metallurgy with addition of various Ni contents.The effect of Ni contents on mechanical and thermal properties of Mo-Cu composites was investigated.The results show that mechanical and thermal properties of Mo-Cu composites are greatly affected by the addition of Ni contents.The composite powders with Ni addition exhibits high sinterability.The sintering temperature is greatly decreased and the comprehensive properties of Mo-Cu composites are obviously improved.Mo-Cu composites with a content of 1.5 wt.% Ni have relative density 99.2%,bending strength 1057.9 MPa,hardness 72.5 HRA,electronic resistivity 1.28×10^(-7)Ω·m^(-1),thermal conductivity 139 W.m^(-1).K^(-1),and lower coefficient of thermal expansion 7.4×10^(-6)K^(-1).Mo-Cu composites have homogeneous and fine microstructure.The fracture mechanism is ductile fracture.Guo, Shibo Kang, Qiping Cai, Chunbo Qu, Xuanhui 2012Rare Metals2012,31,4:7

15Effects of oxygen and carbon on the magnetic properties and microstructure of Sm_2Co_(17) permanent magnets显示文摘The research on the sintered Sm2Co17 permanent magnets prepared by metal injection molding is still at the ex- ploratory stage. Carbon and oxygen are two key factors that influence the magnetic properties. In this article, the effects of oxygen and carbon on the properties and microstructure of the magnets have been studied. The results indicate that oxygen consumes the effective Sm content of the magnets and forms Sm2O3–the non-magnetism phase, which result in the dete- rioration of the magnetic properties. Besides, the magnetic properties decrease in evidence with increasing carbon content. The main factor that affects the magnetic properties is the deterioration of the microstructure of the magnets. The Sm(Co, Cu)5 phase decreases, whereas the cell size increases with the increase of the carbon content. When the carbon content is above 0.43 wt.%, the Sm(Co, Cu)5 phase is not enough to form a uniform cellular microstructure. Thus the magnetic properties disappear. 16Fabrication of micro gear wheels by micropowder injection molding显示文摘The micropowder injection molding technology was investigated to fabricate the microsized gear wheels on a conventional injection molding machine. The feedstock comprised of carbonyl ferrum powder and a wax-based thermoplastic binder. Microinjection molding was fulfilled at about 423 K under 100 MPa. The heating system was applied to the die to improve the fluidity of the feedstock and subsequently the cooling system was used to enhance the strength of the green compacts after injection by decreasing the temperature of the die. 18Fabrication of Ti_3AlC_2 ceramic material by mechanical alloying显示文摘Ti3AlC2 has the properties of ceramics and metals.These excellent properties indicate that Ti3AlC2 is a very promising material to extensive applications.Ti3AlC2 ceramic material was prepared by mechanical alloying.The effects of milling time and sintering temperature on the fracture,microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti3AlC2 ceramic material were analyzed by laser particle analyzer,X-ray diffraction,and scanning electron microscopy.The experimental results showed that Ti3AlC2 had the best comprehensive properties after the composite powder was milled for 3 h and sintered at 1630℃ for 2 h.The relative density,bending strength,and hardness of the sample reached 92.23%,345.2 MPa,and HRA 34.1,respectively.The fracture surface indicated that the fracture of the material belonged to ductile rapture.GUO Shibo KANG Qiping LIU Jun QU Xuanhui 2010Rare Metals2010,29,4:3

20Effect of microstructural parameters on the properties of W-Ni-Fe alloys显示文摘The aim of this research was to examine the effect of microstructural parameters on the tensile properties of dif- ferent compositions of tungsten heavy alloys. The microstructural parameters (grain size, connectivity, contiguity, and solid volume fraction) were measured and were found to have a significant effect on the tensile properties of tungsten-based heavy alloys. The microstructural parameters of W-Ni-Fe alloys are sufficiently different to present a range of me- chanical properties. It is concluded that the mechanical properties of tungsten heavy alloys largely depend on the micro- structural parameters and their ductility is particularly harmed when grains are contiguous.S.H.
