| 2 | Efficient random saliency map detection显示文摘Most image retargeting algorithms rely heavily on valid saliency map detection to proceed. However, the inefficiency of high quality saliency map detection severely restricts the application of these image retargeting methods. In this paper, we propose a random algorithm for efficient context-aware saliency map detection. Our method is a multiple level saliency map detection algorithm that integrates multiple level coarse saliency maps into the resulting saliency map and selectively updates unreliable regions of the saliency map to refine detection results. Because of the randomized search, our method requires very little additional memory beyond that for the input image and result map, and does not need to build auxiliary data structures to accelerate the saliency map detection. | 5 | Curcumenol triggered ferroptosis in lung cancer cells via lncRNA H19/miR-19b-3p/FTH1 axis显示文摘Curcumenol,an effective ingredient of Wenyujin,has been reported that exerted its antitumor potential in a few cancer types.However,the effect and molecular mechanism of curcumenol in lung cancer are largely unknown.Here,we found that curcumenol induced cell death and suppressed cell proliferation in lung cancer cells.Next,we demonstrated that ferroptosis was the predominant method that contributed to curcumenol-induced cell death of lung cancer in vitro and vivo for the first time.Subsequently,using RNA sequencing,we found that the long non-coding RNA H19(lncRNA H19)was significantly downregulated in lung cancer cells treated with curcumenol,when compared to untreated controls.Overexpression of lncRNA H19 eliminated the anticancer effect of curcumenol,while lncRNA H19 knockdown promoted ferroptosis induced by curcumenol treatment.Mechanistically,we showed that lncRNA H19 functioned as a competing endogenous RNA to bind to miR-19b-3p,thereby enhanced the transcription activity of its endogenous target,ferritin heavy chain 1(FTH1),a marker of ferroptosis.In conclusion,our data show that the natural product curcumenol exerted its antitumor effects on lung cancer by triggering ferroptosis,and the lncRNA H19/miR-19b-3p/FTH1 axis plays an essential role in curcumenol-induced ferroptotic cell death.Therefore,our findings will hopefully provide a valuable drug for treating lung cancer patients. | Ruonan Zhang Ting Pan Yu Xiang Mingming Zhang Han Xie Zimao Liang Bi Chen Cong Xu Jing Wang Xingxing Huang Qianru Zhu Ziming Zhao Quan Gao Chengyong Wen Wencheng Liu Weirui Ma Jiao Feng Xueni Sun Ting Duan Elaine Lai-Han Leung Tian Xie Qibiao Wu Xinbing Sui | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,7: | 8 |
| 6 | Sox9 augments BMP2-induced chondrogenic differentiation by downregulating Smad7 in mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)显示文摘Cartilage injuries caused by arthritis or trauma pose formidable challenges for effective clinical management due to the limited intrinsic proliferative capability of chondrocytes.Autologous stem cell-based therapies and transgene-enhanced cartilage tissue engineering may open new avenues for the treatment of cartilage injuries.Bone morphogenetic protein 2(BMP2)induces effective chondrogenesis of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)and can thus be explored as a potential therapeutic agent for cartilage defect repair.However,BMP2 also induces robust endochondral ossification.Although the precise mechanisms through which BMP2 governs the divergence of chondrogenesis and osteogenesis remain to be fully understood,blocking endochondral ossification during BMP2-induced cartilage formation may have practical significance for cartilage tissue engineering.Here,we investigate the role of Sox9-donwregulated Smad7 in BMP2-induced chondrogenic differentiation of MSCs.We find that overexpression of Sox9 leads to a decrease in BMP2-induced Smad7 expression in MSCs.Sox9 inhibits BMP2-induced expression of osteopontin while enhancing the expression of chondrogenic marker Col2a1 in MSCs.Forced expression of Sox9 in MSCs promotes BMP2-induced chondrogenesis and suppresses BMP2-induced endochondral ossification.Constitutive Smad7 expression inhibits BMP2-induced chondrogenesis in stem cell implantation assay.Mouse limb explant assay reveals that Sox9 expands BMP2-stimulated chondrocyte proliferating zone while Smad7 promotes BMP2-intitated hypertrophic zone of the growth plate.Cell cycle analysis indicates that Smad7 induces significant early apoptosis in BMP2-stimulated MSCs.Taken together,our results strongly suggest that Sox9 may facilitate BMP2-induced chondrogenesis by downregulating Smad7,which can be exploited for effective cartilage tissue engineering. | Chen Zhao Wei Jiang Nian Zhou Junyi Liao Mingming Yang Ning Hu Xi Liang Wei Xu Hong Chen Wei Liu Lewis L.Shi Leonardo Oliveira Jennifer Moriatis Wolf Sherwin Ho Aravind Athiviraham H.M.Tsai Tong-Chuan He Wei Huang | 2017 | Genes & Diseases2017,4,4: | 7 |

| 19 | Vibration-Based Terrain Classification for Autonomous Vehicles显示文摘A method for terrain classification based on vibration response resulted from wheel-terrain interaction is presented. Four types of terrains including sine,gravel,cement and pebble were tested.The vibration data were collected by two single axis accelerometers and a triaxial seat pad accelerometer,and five data sources were utilized. The feature vectors were obtained by combining features extracted from amplitude domain,frequency domain,and time-frequency domain. The ReliefF algorithm was used to evaluate the importance of attributes; accordingly,the optimal feature subsets were selected. Further,the predicted class was determined by fusion of outputs provided by five data sources. Finally,a voting algorithm,wherein a class with the most frequent occurrence is the predicted class,was employed. In addition,four different classifiers,namely support vector machine,k-nearest neighbors,Nave Bayes,and decision tree,were used to perform the classification and to test the proposed method.
