2Spatial-temporal Pattern and Population Driving Force of Land Use Change in Liupan Mountains Region, Southern Ningxia, China显示文摘The Liupan Mountains is located in the southern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of China, which forms an important dividing line between landforms and bio-geographic regions. The populated part of the Liupan Mountains region has suffered tremendous ecological damages over time due to population pressure, excessive demand and inappropriate use of agricultural land resources. In this paper, datasets of land use between 1990 and 2000 were obtained from Landsat TM imagery, and then spatial models were used to characterize landscape conditions. Also, the relationship between the population density and land use/cover change (LUCC) was analyzed. Results indicate that cropland, forestland, and urban areas have increased by 44,186ha, 9001ha and 1550ha, respectively while the grassland area has appreciably decreased by 54,025ha in the study period. The decrease in grassland was most notable. Of the grassland lost, 49.4% was converted into cropland. The largest annual land conversion rate in the study area was less than 2%. These changes are attributed to industrial and agricultural development and population growth. 3Numerical study of the effects of local atmospheric circulations on a pollution event over Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei, China显示文摘Currently, the Chinese central government is considering plans to build a trilateral economic sphere in the Bohai Bay area, including Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei(BTH), where haze pollution frequently occurs. To achieve sustainable development, it is necessary to understand the physical mechanism of the haze pollution there. Therefore, the pollutant transport mechanisms of a haze event over the BTH region from 23 to 24 September 2011 were studied using the Weather Research and Forecasting model and the FLEXible-PARTicle dispersion model to understand the effects of the local atmospheric circulations and atmospheric boundary layer structure. Results suggested that the penetration by sea-breeze could strengthen the vertical dispersion by lifting up the planetary boundary layer height(PBLH) and carry the local pollutants to the downstream areas; in the early night, two elevated pollution layers(EPLs) may be generated over the mountain areas: the pollutants in the upper EPL at the altitude of 2–2.5 km were favored to disperse by long-range transport, while the lower EPL at the altitude of 1 km may serve as a reservoir, and the pollutants there could be transported downward and contribute to the surface air pollution.The intensity of the sea–land and mountain–valley breeze circulations played an important role in the vertical transport and distribution of pollutants. 4Multiple Time Scale Analysis of River Runoff Using Wavelet Transform for Dagujia River Basin, Yantai, China显示文摘Based on monthly river runoff and meteorological data, a method of Morlet wavelet transform was used to analyze the multiple time scale characteristics of river runoff in the Dagujia River Basin, Yantai City, Shandong Prov- ince. The results showed that the total annual river runoff in the Dagujia River Basin decreased significantly from 1966 to 2004, and the rate of decrease was 48×106m3/10yr, which was higher than the mean value of most rivers in China. Multiple time scale characteristics existed, which accounted for different aspects of the changes in annual river runoff, and the major periods of the runoff time series were identified as about 28 years, 14 years and 4 years with decreasing levels of fluctuation. The river runoff evolution process was controlled by changes in precipitation to a certain extent, but it was also greatly influenced by human activities. Also, for different time periods and scales, the impacts of cli- mate changes and human activities on annual river runoff evolution occurred at the same time. 5A novel nonviral nanoparticle gene vector: Poly-L-lysine- silica nanoparticles显示文摘DNA delivery is a core technology for gene structure and function research as well as clinical settings. The ability to safely and efficiently targeted transfer foreign DNA into cells is a fundamental goal in biotechnology. With the development of nanobiotechnology, nanoparticle gene vectors brought about new hope to reach the goal. In our research, silica nanoparticles (SiNP) were synthesized first in a microemulsion system polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether (OP-10)/cyclohexane/ammonium hydroxide, at the same time the effects of SiNP size and its distribution were elucidated by orthogonal analysis; then poly-L-lysine (PLL) was linked on the surface of SiNP by nanoparticle surface energy and electrostatically binding; lastly a novel complex nanomate-rial-poly-L-lysine-silica nanoparticles (PLL-SiNP) wasprepared. The analysis of plasmid DNA binding and DNase I enzymatic degradation discovered that PLL-SiNP could bind DNA, and protect it against enzymatic degradation. 7Advances in dielectric elastomer actuation technology显示文摘Dielectric elastomer actuators(DEAs) have attracted much interest over the past decades due to the inherent flexibility, large strain, high efficiency, high energy density, and fast response of the material, which are known as one of the most promising candidates for artificial muscle. In this paper, we first introduce the actuation principle and electromechanical modeling approaches of dielectric elastomers(DEs). Then, the performance of different DEs material and existing compliant electrodes that are widely utilized for DEAs are presented. We also highlight the compatibility of DEs, which is suitable for a variety of actuator designs and applications. 9A Multi-Scale Urban Atmospheric Dispersion Model for Emergency Management显示文摘To assist emergency management planning and prevention in case of hazardous chemical release into the atmosphere, especially in densely built-up regions with large populations, a multi-scale urban atmospheric dispersion model was established.Three numerical dispersion experiments, at horizontal resolutions of 10 m, 50 m and 3000 m, were performed to estimate the adverse effects of toxic chemical release in densely built-up areas. The multi-scale atmospheric dispersion model is composed of the Weather Forecasting and Research(WRF) model, the Open Source Field Operation and Manipulation software package, and a Lagrangian dispersion model. Quantification of the adverse health effects of these chemical release events are given by referring to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Acute Exposure Guideline Levels. The wind fields of the urban-scale case, with 3 km horizontal resolution, were simulated by the Beijing Rapid Update Cycle system, which were utilized by the WRF model. The sub-domain-scale cases took advantage of the computational fluid dynamics method to explicitly consider the effects of buildings. 10Thiol-yne click polymerization显示文摘The research on using thiol-ene click reaction to synthesize sulfur-containing polymers with topological structures and advanced functional properties is a hot topic. However, the application of the thiol-yne reaction in the functional polymer preparation is limited and the thiol-yne click polymerization is to be further developed. In this review, we summarized recent research efforts on using thiol-yne click polymerization to synthesize polymers with topological structures. The sulfur-containing polymers were facilely prepared by photo-and thermo-initiated, amine-mediated, and transition-metal-catalyzed thiol-yne click polymerizations. 11PKM2-dependent glycolysis promotes the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells during atherosclerosis显示文摘Increased glycolysis is involved in the proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs).Pyruvate kinase isoform M2(PKM2),a key rate-limiting enzyme in glycolysis,accelerates the proliferation and migration of tumor cells.Although the intracellular mecha nisms associated with oxidized low-density lipoprotein(oxLDL)-stimulated VSMC proliferation and migration have been extensively explored,it is still unclear whether oxLDL promotes the proliferation and migration of VSMCs by enhancing PKM2-dependent glycolysis.In the present study,we detected PKM2 expression and pyruvate kinase activity in oxLDL-treated VSMCs and explored the regulation of PKM2 in oxLDL-treated VSMCs and apoE^-/-mice.The results showed that PKM2 expression in VSMCs was higher in the intima than in the media in plaques from atherosclerotic rabbits.Moreover,PKM2 level in VSMCs was increased during atherosclerosis progression in apoE^-/-mice.Both PKM2 expression and pyruvate kinase activity were found to be upregulated by oxLDL stimulation in VSMCs.Shikonin(SKN),a specific inhibitor of PKM2,was found to inhibit the oxLDL-induced proliferation and migration in VSMCs,in addition to delaying the atherosclerosis progression in apoE^-/-mice.More importantly,oxLDL increased glucose uptake,ATP and lactate production,and the extracellular acidification rate in VSMCs,which could be reversed by SKN.Meanwhile,oxygen consumption rate was unchanged after oxLDL stimulation,suggesting that glycolysis is the main contributor to the energy supply in oxLDL-treated VSMCs.Our results suggest that oxLDL induces VSMC proliferation and migration by upregulating PKM2-dependent glycolysis,thereby contributing to the atherosclerosis progression.Thus,targeting PKM2-dependent glycolysis might provide a novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of atherosclerosis.Xuezhu Zhao Fancheng Tan Xiaoru Cao Zhengyu Cao Bicheng Li Zhaoqian Shen Ye Tian 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,1:3
12Tuning the strength of built-in electric field in 2D/2D g-C_(3)N_(4)/MS_(2) and g-C_(3)N_(4)/ZrS_(2) S-scheme heterojunctions by nonmetal doping显示文摘Single photocatalysts usually exhibit unsatisfactory performance due to the serious recombination of photogenerated electron‒hole pairs.Combining two photocatalysts to construct S-scheme heterojunction could solve this problem.In S-scheme mechanism,the interfacial built-in electric field(IEF)provides a vital driving force for efficient charge separation.Modifying the IEF is a feasible strategy to further improve the photocatalytic activity.Herein,a novel idea of tuning the strength of IEF in 2D/2D graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))/MS2(M=Sn,Zr)S-scheme heterojunctions by nonmetal doping was developed by employing density functional theory calculation.Three nonmetal elements(O,P,and S)were severally introduced into g-C_(3)N_(4)/MS_(2) composites.Charge density difference suggested that O and S doping led to increased interfacial electron transfer,while P doping had minimal influence.As expected,the calculated field strength of O-and S-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)/MS_(2) composites was significantly larger than that of pristine and P-doped g-C_(3)N_(4)/MS_(2) composites.Therefore,O and S doping endowed g-C_(3)N_(4)/MS_(2) Sscheme heterojunctions with enhanced IEF and more thorough charge transfer.Correspondingly,the experimentally synthesized O-C_(3)N_(4)/ZrS_(2) composite exhibited better photocatalytic H2-production activity than g-C_(3)N_(4)/ZrS_(2) composite.This work proposed an original idea of employing proper nonmetal doping to magnify the advantage of S-scheme heterojunction in accelerating charge separation.Bicheng Zhu Haiyan Tan Jiajie Fan Bei Cheng Jiaguo Yu Wingkei Ho 2021Journal of Materiomics2021,7,5:3
13Effects of deformation parameters on microstructure and mechanical properties of magnesium alloy AZ31B显示文摘Plastic deformation and dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behaviors of magnesium alloy AZ31B during thermal compression and extrusion processes were studied. In addition, effects of deformation temperature and rates on the microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated. The results show that the DRX grains nucleate initially at the primary grain boundaries and the twin boundaries, and the twinning plays an important role in the grain refinement. The DRX grain size depends on the deformation temperature and strain rate The average grain size is only 1 μm when the strain rate is 5 s-1 and temperature is 250 ℃. It is also found that the DRX grain can grow up quickly at the elevated temperature. The microstructure of extruded rods was consisted of tiny equal-axis DRX grains and some elongated grains. 14Nsp2 and GP5-M of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus Contribute to Targets for Neutralizing Antibodies显示文摘Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV)is characterized by its genetic variation and limited cross protection among heterologous strains.Even though several viral structural proteins have been regarded as inducers of neutralizing antibodies(NAs)against PRRSV,the mechanism underlying limited cross-neutralization among heterologous strains is still controversial.In the present study,examinations of NA cross reaction between a highly pathogenic PRRSV(HP-PRRSV)strain,JXwn06,and a low pathogenic PRRSV(LP-PRRSV)strain,HB-1/3.9,were conducted with viral neutralization assays in MARC-145 cells.None of the JXwn06-hyperimmuned pigs’sera could neutralize HB-1/3.9 in vitro and vice versa.To address the genetic variation between these two viruses that are associated with limited crossneutralization,chimeric viruses with coding regions swapped between these two strains were constructed.Viral neutralization assays indicated that variations in nonstructural protein 2(nsp2)and structural proteins together contribute to weak cross-neutralization activity between JXwn06 and HB-1/3.9.Furthermore,we substituted the nsp2-,glycoprotein2(GP2)-,GP3-,and GP4-coding regions together,or nsp2-,GP5-,and membrane(M)protein-coding regions simultaneously between these two viruses to construct chimeric viruses to test cross-neutralization reactivity with hyperimmunized sera induced by their parental viruses.The results indicated that the swapped nsp2 and GP5-M viruses increased the neutralization reactivity with the donor strain antisera in MARC-145 cells.Taken together,these results show that variations in nsp2 and GP5-M correlate with the limited neutralization reactivity between the heterologous strains HP-PRRSV JXwn06 and LP-PRRSV HB-1/3.9.Jia Su Lei Zhou Bicheng He Xinhui Zhang Xinna Ge Jun Han Xin Guo Hanchun Yang 2019Virologica Sinica2019,34,6:3
